Quarryman, at the end of a game where Suarez didn't do one thing which could be construed as a dive, you're giving out about him diving...that's weird

Great to see people crediting me with criticism of De Gea on Twitter for the Liverpool goal. Ridiculous stuff. I'm not even on Twitter. De Gea was utterly blameless for the goal...which is more than can be said for Giggsy. WTF was he doing?!

De Gea had a magnificent game and deserved to win man of the match. The one on one save against Suarez in the first half was elementary but some of his second half saves were magnificent. Performing like that in the cauldron that is Anfield is a big positive mark in my book for De Gea. I still have concerns about him but he's done a lot to convince me today. I always said that I hoped that I was wrong and it now looks like I could be. Fingers crossed De Gea continues to perform like this.

United should be happy with the draw they played for. A fair result based on the game. Gotta love Chicarito.

Liverpool's 'chase everything and don't let them settle' tactics destroyed the game from a footballing perspective because (a) they were nullified when they got the ball by utd's 5 in midfield.

Kind of contradict yourself there, if Liverpool destroyed the game by constantly pressing the United players it's just as easy to say United destroyed the game by just crowding the midfield.

Fellas, pious criticism of diving is utterly ridiculous.

    Every team is at it.

Drop the holier than thou sh1te.

There was contact and as anyone who has played sport at any level knows when you're running and someone catches your foot ever so slightly, you tend to go down like a ton of bricks.

He did the same thing he did with Rodwell's red card for Rio's yellow. He waits for the player to come close, then curls up in a ball and does a spin to the ground in an attempt to get the player booked.

I admire Suarez's ability, he is such a good player, but he needs to cut the bull**** out of his game.

Nah he definitely had a couple of sniper moments. However they won't be in the highlights so I won't be able to provide video proof.

So i guess we'll just assume i'm correct by default :)

Yeah, you've nearly the same amount of European Cups.

But considering both teams have 40 honours each to their name, you think you'd do your research first or you end up sounding a bit of a twat.

Neville said before the match Utd were concerned about Liverpool's pressing and the fact 'you never get a second' at Anfield. Obviously he's knows the way Utd think and the way Fergie thinks... with 3 consecutive defeats at Anfield, it was as if Fergie was saying 'screw it, just gonna play them at their own game and not worry about the football, hopefully if we're level in the last 20 minutes we can change tactics then and try to nick it...'

The Utd line up was more a hat tip to Liverpool than anything else for their recent record against Utd at Anfield. Fergie got what he wanted and up until the last few minutes, Utd did fairly well at containing Liverpool, but then again by that stage Rooney, Nani & Hernandez were all on the pitch so they were set up to attack and you seen what happened... Liverpool were able to bypass Utd's midfield which is why Fergie originally started with the 5 in there, rather than go for an 'we'll outscore you' approach with emphasis on attack...

Rio raked his studs over his Achilles for the booking. Very painful. Definite foul & not a dive.

Sky had to play it in slow-mo and zoomed in to determine there was contact - it wasn't as if Ferdinand set out to take him down..

Also Adam's reaction wasn't that of a person who was in pain... he got straight up and happily accepted a hand slap from teammate Henderson..

I'm talking about the booking Rio picked up for his foul on Suarez which, quite weirdly, has been judged as being a dive/play acting from Suarez by some Utd fans here. Weird.

Disappointed we didn't win in the end, but a point against the champions is never a bad result.

My motm was Kelly without a doubt, followed by Enrique.

Adam was really good, Gerrard when he dropped back to holding midfield was great, Henderson played really well when he came on, Suarez played very well as did Kuyt. Downing was disappointing for the most part and i thought Bellamy should have replaced him early in the second half.

Have to say that United defended well, particularly Smalling, and Danny Wellbeck was excellent.

Has Kelly let Young out of his back pocket yet?

A reasonable reply but I still think Suarez was no angel either. Numerous times he hit the ground with little or no contact.

Still undecided about the Adam free kick. It really must have been the slightest contact. These players have immense balance and strength and could often stay on their feet if they had to. Park is a good example, you really have to hit the guy hard before he'll go over, immensely honest player. Same for Kuyt in fairness. It's just disappointing to see and for me today (and more often than not) Liverpool were the more guilty party.

Look at drogba, a stiff breeze was all that was needed for him but he's almost completely cleaned up his game.

Torres went the other way. Initially honest and hungry to stay on his feet for a goal he became a disgrace.

Edit: young was obstructed, that wasn't a dive for me.

Anyway, back on topic, 1-1, fair result.

What about Evra doing his best to get Suarez booked for a tap on the knee, where are all the United fans complaining about that, like they were complaining about Suarez making a meal of a challenge from Rodwell in the Merseyside Derby?

He went down because he was kicked in the knee, suarez lashed out, deserved to be booked tbh.

Very pleased with today's performance. Dissappointed not to get the result, but still no disaster. Maybe got a bit unlucky that Ferdinand didn't see red. Personally don't think Adam dived he gets nipped which is eniough when running at pace to fall over.

We edged it and shouldve probably won, but can't complain with the result, United will always manage to dig something out.

    Very encouraging performance though

I clearly said the word PLAYERS. As in Kelly, Enrique, Kuyt, Skrtel, Adam, Downing and Suarez walking past and seeing the plethora of Premier League titles. They all haven't had a sniff at a trophy. Even Reina only has a Supercup, FA and a Carling cup.

And all the Liverpool Legends only time in seeing the League trophy would be their trip to United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Blackburn.

Plus it with just a joke. Get over yourself. Calling me a twat also is a bit harsh.

Suarez lashed out and caught Evra on the knee. He should have been sent-off or at the very, very least booked.

He barely touched him Paully, it was absolute minimal contact. It was hardly Lee Cattermole standered.

Even I thought it was yellow card at most and even at that, it was pushing it. It was a free definitely...
