If I encounter someone with issues I just go have a coffee with real people and forget about it so it doesn't bother me so much but I do tend to avoid one particular forum in an attempt to evade the more subtle stuff, it's not really worth the effort.

Or maybe taken too seriously. Like the way if a small child falls and there's no one around to mother it, it just get's up and carries on. If everyone rushes over to it, it cries it's eyes out as if it lost a leg.

Bullying is a horrible thing but to a certain extent it's just a part of life and you have to learn to overcome it for your own good as a person.

The internet is rife with online bullying and for some people it can be a very traumatic experience. Just because you might not think it a big deal you never know what someone else is going through in their life.

However, if you are going to dish it out you have to be able to take it. Some people attack others posters and then when they themselves are attacked turn to victim mode.

Unprovoked attacks on others is very unpleasant. Have been a long time lurker on boards only recently signed up. In certain forums there does appear to be a bit of a herd mentality. Some innocent poster can post something and ask a question and the first response is to ridicule the post/poster and the rest of the herd follow suit. Sometimes somebody will address this and the herd turn on them. I have also seen cases where the first response is a genuine one and the herd are a little nicer. Quite funny to observe.

Am not saying everyone on certain forums are part of the herd but there is a certain in crowd who like to set the tone of the thread. Quite like real life really where its easier for some to follow the crowd. Hiding behind the internet really brings out the worst in certain people. I wonder how different people are in real life. I don't understand how you can have a certain personality online and then be somebody else in reallife. If you think that you are deluded. Its just the internet is safer to show your true colours!

At the moment on fb i've a boardsie being harassing.he's getting deleted and blocked when I get home.

It's amazing the amount of people who will try use depression against you.

Personally I think the more people who talk openly about having depression the more acceptable it will become. I was depressed for about a year, a person found this out (I had a blog, and spoke about it) and they tried to disrupt a relationship I had as a result by telling the other person about the depression. I'd already told that person, so it just made them look like a dick.

Are you serious? That is really sad to hear!

Anyone who uses depression against someone else has some serious problems themselves. Says way more about them then it does about you.

Depression is nothing to be ashamed of. No wonder there is such a stimga surrounding it in this country. I really hope people like that are a minority.

Thats pure rubbish, online bullying happens. It could be something like I described or people setting up facebook profiles about people etc.

Thats why formspring sucks, cant tell who did it. Best policy is to ignore I feel, no point making a big fuss, then they'll know they are getting to you.

yeah, but I did set myself up for it. I took my link down ages ago, and at least one person that was sending stuff obviously saved the page, because they still write stuff there.
