It's happened to me a few times.

The first time I was a little taken aback, but quickly regained my composure and politely explained that I was straight, which is my standard position now.

One or two guys were a bit persistent after that though: either they really fancied me or were sure that I was really gay!

Still though, it's flattering, and nice to know that if heterosexuality ultimately doesn't pan out for me, I have a back-up. :pac:

If by a gay guy, if he's hot, sure I'd go for it.

If by a gay girl, I'd be surprised and question my gender, but sure I'd go for it.

    I'm straight but,

I'd act all interested and flirty. Give him my number and meet up a week or so later. I'd kindly let him ply me with drinks and pay for my food. When he try's to make his move I'd reply with a "I'm not that kind of guy" response.

After the night out of free food and booze, (oh and the taxi home), I'd give him a tender peck on the cheek and part ways. Subsequently I'd not return any texts and block his facebook friend requests.

    Sounds like fun.

I point and laugh and shout out very loudly "Hahaha, Gaydar FAIL!"

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

I was chatted up by a gay dude who I didn't realise was gay until he went in for the tongue. I was a bit surprised, frankly. Flattered too, at least my charms weren't lost on EVERYONE at that point. But I yelped a bit. Turned cheek so he got my cheek, and then I went 'whu, whuzzat'. Which is what you get from a master of repartee like me. Then I made my polite excuses and legged it.

assuming you are straight of course

Depending on who it is, I would either politely steer the conversation to safer waters, or if I'm curious see where it goes.

have been many a night, have a few gay friends so any time I'm out with them it tends to happen. I seem to get more attention from gay men than straight women, doesnt bother me at all, anyone thinking you're worth chatting up is a nice compliment, if I swung that way I'd be up to my eyeballs in cock, I mean that both figuratively and literally.
Yep I get far more attention in gay clubs than 'straight' clubs, have been offered bjs, had my junk grabbed, asked if I want to tear this ass up etc...i wish I were gay, i'd be up to my eyes in dick :(

I have lots of gay friends, and when out with them it's no big deal if you just say you're straight. In fact, some get offended that you're in a gay bar.

I'm barred from Abrakebabra coz' I decked a gay fella who pinched my arse while I was queueing for my taco chips.

I have absolutley nothing against gay people, just keep it outta my back garden lads.

He did it a couple of times. I told him to **** off. He did it again, then he went to sleep on the greasey floor. He had it coming.

If a guy did that to a girl it would be a different story though wouldn't it

Would you have put this fella to sleep for pinching your hole?

Yeah, in fairness to gloobag. A guy was pretty persistent with me too and tried to kiss me so I shoved into the bar and he whacked his back off it. Don't think it was over the top or that I'm a homophobe..as you hear. No means No.

I thought it was ok for hetrosexuals to visit gay bars as long as they dont frighten the horses

You get every mix in a gay bar now, they are no longer the preserve of the gay only. Ireland has moved on.

But if you say you are not interested even if you are gay. that's it end of story. The same if you try chat some one up in a straight or regular bar.

One of the gay bars in Belfast used to have a "straight night".

I don't know if they still do it but when they did it was the best panto in Dublin, the bingo night in the George, it was gas. You got a lot of straight people in on that night, just for the show.

My straight friend came onto me once when he was drunk and I was not, he just kept saying "if you were sober".. by which he meant "if you were straight" it was a ridiculous situation, but too funny.

    Does not compute !

However if he had been taking MDMA that might be a different story :pac:

I'll vote that ZombieBride is a gay woman and was putting a new twist on the OP's question. I liked her remix. Good work ZB, that's the kind of out-of-the-box posting we need around here!

Not so much chatted up as asked outright if some gay guy could have sex with me - "I'd love to have sex with you?".
Was quite random really, I was watching a band at a 'music festival' back in April/May and he just hung around for a while, made eye contact and then asked. Didn't even hear him properly the first time. Was rather surprised.

Why is this in quotes? Is "music festival" a euphemism for a festival where gay people ask straight people for sex in a direct and oddly passionless sounding way?

In all fairness, I'm gay and I'd expect a punch if I pinched some random lad's arse. A girl wouldn't be called sexist for slapping a guy who pinched hers, I think there's a difference between homophobia and just not being comfortable with being touched in that way by someone who's gay and of the same gender.
