When this case first came up it was said that the main prosecutor was quite a big knob in Italy and that she would be found guilty to save him face and then she would get of on appeal.

    Looks like it happened.

She should never have been found guilty in the first place.

What motive had she for lying about everything she done that night?

The motive was that she was a naive young girl saying what she thought the police wanted to hear. You would be surprised what people will say to an authority figure shouting at them for hours.

Comments are allowed on the Amanda Knox case? Amanda Knox was the victim of anti-White anti Nordic race prejudice. This was the real hate in this case.

Are you stupid? That was a different crime

Why do you think she is guilty? All the evidence points towards her being innocent.

Yes she was found guilty of defamation and righty so.

Are you stupid, can you even spell properly?

The Italian police have made a royal f*ck up of this. The whole case stinks to high heaven. Amanda Knox knows far more than she's letting on.

I feel terribly sorry for Meredith Kercher's family. They must be absolutely devastated over the acquittal. How that family will ever get closure with this media circus, I don't know.

Can it? On what grounds exactly? they will need a legal reason and not a factual reason to appeal it.

On what grounds? You can't just appeal for god sake.

Don't know but here it is in the DB:

Knox was then taken back to prison and released within an hour, driving with her family to an undisclosed location. Rumors abound about the possibility of her being taken to a private chartered jet parked at Perugia airport or a Delta flight from Rome to Seattle early tomorrow morning.

The case is not over quite yet, though. The prosecution vows to appeal and bring the duo back to face “justice,” and the case will surely go to the high court. In the meantime, the story jumps to Seattle, where the world’s tabloids are already waiting for the return of Foxy Knoxy.

Guilty without even needing evidence according to one of the police investigators.

Excuse me but how does eating a pizza together prove their guilt? How is it disturbing exactly?

Speaking of crazed prosecutor, been reading up on the Monster of Florence case there and Guiliani Mignini and Michele Giuttari's handling of it. After reading up on it, it doesn't surprise me at all the claims Knox had about the interrogation/questioning.

Either way it's a completely botched police investigation.

    Indeed.

I have absolutely no idea about Knox' guilt or otherwise, but I am now entirely convinced that Guiliani Mignini would happily railroad an innocent suspect for the sake of convenience.

Can Amanda and Raffaele now sue Rudy Guede for defamation?

They should be ashamed of themselves for letting them go free, Knox looks evil and always has this look as if she's hiding something

There are some people on here who I hope are never called for Jury Duty, you are supposed to use evidence to convict people, not theories or opinions.

I need to update something from an earlier post where I used the term "reasonable doubt". I am not sure if local media has reported this as I read a translation of the verdict online. Open to correction but apparently the findings on all charges except the defamation charge were "did not commit the crime", in other words a complete acquittal of any involvement. This is a much stronger verdict than "innocent because of reasonable doubt" and suggests the verdict was unanimous and the jury were essentially saying Knox and Sallicido had no case to answer.

Yes I read that too, the jury had 2 different options if they chose to acquit, the first being that there wasn't enough evidence to uphold the conviction and the second was that they simply did not commit the crime.

The jury decided that they didn't commit the crime.

Barbie Nadeau has been one of the most vocal if not the most vocal proclaiming Knox's guilt. She now looks like an ass, along with her book, the full title of which is "Angel Face, the true story of student killer Amanda Knox". Expect to find quite the revision for the second edition.
I fully expect Amanda Knox will sue her for defamation.

If she writes a book I am sure it will focus on the four years of her life she spent behind bars for a crime the appeals court has found "she did not commit". It is a very sobering thought that four years of your life can be stolen from you based on the fantasies of a crazed prosecutor. The verdict of "did not commit the crimes" shows how wrong the original verdict was and how wrong those proclaiming her guilt were.

I can't say I'm surprised at the amount of people still calling Knox 'guilty' (strange no-one is mentioning Solecitto) but having looked at the facts of the case, I'm baffled as to how she was convicted in the first place

Still, justice prevailed in the end

I'm glad to see she was released. A ridiculous prosecution.

Anyone who feels she is guilty because of her confession and fingering of the bar-owner, should have a look at our homegrown 'Kerry Babies' case, from the 1980's.

Yes, just because a girl who was a bit simple was forced to confess back in the 80s, Knox must have been too. Knox is not simple in the head, she was able to stand up in court and articulately declare her innocence.

To be honest, my gut still says she did it. However, I recognise there wasn't nearly enough evidence to send 2 people away for life (thanks to the buggered up forensics), and they had little choice but to free both of them.

I shudder at how much of a celebrity she's going to become.

There was practically no evidence to convict them, the original trial was a travesty

She has spent the last 3 and a half years in prison for a crime she didn't commit, she deserves to make money out of this

Edit: I pray you never make it onto a jury, no evidence to convict but you feel she's guilty in your gut?

She deserves the three years for trying to land her boss in it though.
