No controversy here seemingly, I won't have to load up the RTE Real Player tomorrow ~ I'm not watching the show live. Guess this is one episode I can safely miss.

    Thanks for the reports. :)

Bridin and Scottish girl for the final...? What do you think? Mary is too panicky.

Should really have kept Nadia in :)

Shane mentioning gastropubs. Are these not really an English concept?

have to say that there are certainly some people who know and love food in this competition but maybe only 1 or 2 at most that could actually live the life of being a top chef.

The single profession with the biggest drop-out rate is catering. You'll find that some 50~60% of people were either Chefs or Teachers, and a surprising amount, both.

To be a top chef you need to work your laurels off. To be a top chef you have a world of cooking experience and a hell of alot of burnt pots along the way. These guys have a few months of telly and will be overwhelmed by the publicity they get.

I wish them all the best of luck, they might even fly off their fame for a while but ultimately the team they accumulate around them will be the making or breaking of any future restaurant plans. They simply dont have the experience needed to do it themselves.

I have to say im really loving it though. Watching Masterchef is like eating chocolate at lent, so wrong, but so right :pac:

Hmmmmm... I'm getting a tiny sense that dylan and nick are on the prowl. They've eliminated nearly all the blokes, manifestly flirt their holes off with claire ann and whats with that "sexy food" comment by nick in the snippet of next week's show?? (shudder)

Shane had a tough time of it. I reckon nobody could of had that amount of lamb cooked to order done in that time. I'd say the judges pick who they think is the weakest and give them the toughest tasks so their elimination is all the easier. Pierce on the other hand could of had those deserts prepared, there was no need to make them to order. He knew everyone in the restaurant was getting the same dessert so surely you would be caramelizing 30+ pears before the mains had even gone out?

That's bollocks. It has nothing to do with the work, so imposing a rule like that constitutes bullying.

Would you defend a rule that he not have women in the kitchen, or blacks? Rules are rules, you say.

The irony of Dylan being bearded (well, sort of bearded) and being allowed access to the kitchen has already been noted.

Would have thought the women's make-up was a far greater hazard for cleanliness in the kitchen...

If it was me I would have refused to shave and wouldn't have put up with that rubbish.

Also, zooming in like that on Pierce's bum last night was a bit much. Are they trying to make a laugh out of the contestants?
