Just a quick point (may not matter a bit to most people) but something that has bothered me for a while. Last year bought two 19 inch (i think) tvs from Argos for my folks house, one was a Toshiba and the other an Alba. Imagine my surprise when i discovered that the alba remote operated the Toshiba tv and vice versa! I'm not really very technical so I'm not sure if this if a big revelation or not but i would be curious to know what more knowledgeable people make of it...........

Generic remotes, My mitsubishi remote from my 6yr old TV works with my new Philips. I think its the frequency they work off. its how universal remotes work i believe.

They are both better than Hanspree IMO

Toshiba would be my choice of the two i mentioned and worth the extra 20 euro

Samsung and LG are my favourite brands

If you open them up you will probably find the same parts seeing as everything is made in china now anyway. apparently there is only a few factorys which make the lcd screens which everyone uses in their sets so i dont see any great problem purchasing cheap stuff really..

Theyre gone from Jervis now, and the title is misleading :)

    Eh,no,its not missleading at all.

You should carefully read the OPs post and the rest of the posts that clearly state Tesco Jervis, and why they are selling for half price.

That might help you, before jumping in with both feet

OP didn't say Jervis only, and it was only explained later why it was on sale with the manager etc.

Jumping in with both feet

    Specs;

Looks like it's resolution is HD ready (1366x768), not Full 1080p,
but it's still a good price for a 32", thx OP.

1080p is really on relevant on bigger than 32" tvs

Im looking for a decent but cheap priced 22 inch TV.

I got a Hannspree FUll Hd 22 inch a few months ago in DID for 180 euro, but they dont have any 22 inch Hannsprees in stock anymore.

Any ideas on a good 22 inch TV for around or sub 180 euro???

    Its for my daughters bedroom.

Not sure how good/bad this is but argos have a 22 inch Bush Full HD set for €113.99. No reviews on the argos site though. Might be worth considering if they have any in stock.

it is Jervis only as they have a new manager, seems a lot of old hifi, TVs and other electronics are going on sale, most of it will be half price,I seen some guy get 2 32" Toshiba's earlier for €180 each, may be worth a look in the morning.

LOL! Is that why they have them in the 3 different tescos in Waterford :D

Any of you's got the model number for the 22" LG? Saw a set this morning but tesco seem not to bother about putting saorview compatibility on their descriptions.

I've got this one and must say sound is very bad, but 25'' for €180 you can't complain too much:

And I saw last weekend some Haanspree's TV in ILAC (Iceland?)

On the TV in the original post - none in Dundrum and I was back in Jervis again today and all gone. Customer service said that there will be no more coming in either, they were reduced to clear before the Christmas stock arrives.

The 32" Toshiba sets in the OPs post? I was on the lookout for them and didn't see anything near that price. Only Toshiba for €199 was a 19" or 22" job. 32"s in Ardkeen were well over €300 afaik.

Gave my mate a ring that works in Tesco Tallaght. He's off at the min but he rang the store. There was a bit of a mix up when I went in , the guy brought out 2 19", but when I said what I was after he went and had a root around the stores, fair play to him it took him about 10 mins of lookign but out he came with the only 2 of the 32" in there. None of the staff even knew they were there :) This was this morning so I got lucky that there was 2 buried in the storeroom.

Went up to to Tesco in Artane tonight and I managed to blag the very last LG 22 inch TV for 120 euro (sale price was 130,reduced down from 180).

Box was slightly damaged and torn,so I managed to get it for 120 euro.

Just set the TV up here, back home.

Picture quality and sound are brilliant.

I can plug my digital camera straight into the TV and view my video clips and pictures too.

Cracking little 22 inch TV indeed.:)

Oh and Tesco in Clarehall are doing the 32 inch Toshiba TVs for the full price of 399 euro,so none of the cheap ones up there.
