I like her but this doesn't surprise me....too much of a good thing and, I really hope next time "it lasts in love" for her...so much angst can't be good for the psyche

So who do you despise musically??? My Mum loved the Dolly Parton original version of "I will always love you" and she despised Whitney's treatment of this Country classic...hadn't the heart to tell her it was Whitney's efforts that made it famous (and then some!!).............and both versions are banned in my orbit:D:D:D

Terry Jacks - Season's in the Sun.......found my Dad's porn stash when I was little and this was playing on the radio as I digested the content (tame Fiesta & Playboy, it was the 70's!!)........still feel  and regress to childhood embarassment if I hear it!!

Someone in work today kept playing her songs on the cd player. I felt like jumping off a bridge after listening to them.

I hate Adele's big foghorn voice. Lifts me out of it every time I hear her

    I am totally shopping there

If only shops would do the same for all that autotuned cat puke that passes for music.

Never seen her or heard her sing yet but am aware of the name. Based on this I'm guessing she has to be some X-factor creation (sorry I mean democratically voted winner)?

No, nothing to do with X-factor

She went to a school for performing arts as a child and got to where she is on her talent

Hey...sometimes girlies/guys like a bit of padding on the bones and I couldn't imagine that voice coming out of a skinny bird:D:D:D

I only connected the name and the voice recently - I'd heard her before, but didn't feel inspired to find out who it was. OK, I suppose, but I've heard good things about her live performances. She really impressed music industry guru Bob Lefsetz when she played LA last month, and it's not the first time he's praised her work. Bob is not someone who's easily impressed.

Just googled the name never heard of her.

I honestly don't get why everyone hates Adele. She's got an incredible voice, far better than half the auto-tuned shite around at the moment.

    Brilliant

She is unreal. She had, if I recall correctly, 2 singles and 2 albums in the top 5 of the singles and album charts, all at the same time, earlier this year. First time that had happened since the Beatles. It is just she has been massively overplayed, and I guess some people need a break from the big voice and the angst!

its less **** than the xfactor ****.
but its so much more prevalent.....1 million tiny ****s is as bad as 100 big ****s, as they say....

Adele makes music for ears, not eyes.

Yeah, great version to be fair. The audience clapping out of time don't half ruin it though.

Shop copies an urban myth story shown in that Mike Myers Wayne's Film
Story gets picked up by London Independant and RTÉ

Staff member is available and happy to give a quote, funny that

OP starts the story on boards as if it was news and not advertising

Job done, well done to the owner

And well done to Adele who is incredibly talented

Aah now, should you not be over in Conspiracy Theories??

I have no connection to this shop although I did buy the sheet music to White Ladder in there;)

It was news to me, and I thought it interesting how songs we really like can become those we must avoid at all costs!!

As I said in my original post, I like her too...especially the track on the album where she nods to Jerry Maguire:D:D:D

It was worse back in the '90's when bastard Blur, and bastard Park Life was being played in every single pub, club, store, radio station etc, etc. Nightmare. The worst song ever written, by the worst band that ever existed.

You seem to be very easily irritated. You should cut down on your porklife mate... get some exercise.

She writes her own songs which more then can be said of a lot in the charts these days

I've heard worse in all honesty. She's a good singer and I think "Rolling in the Deep" is a decent song.

I think the problem is the simple fingering/rhythm of the song, sounds like a kind of A minor, G major, F major thing which just happens to be a very simple piece of piano which anyone can play if they're shown once. A lot like chopsticks or three blind mice or something. I'd say the music shop owners are just irritated at hearing the same riff over and over rather than taking issue with the anxtiness of the song.

This is one of the comments from the OP's link - you couldn't make this up!:eek::eek:
Disgraceful. They should ban all those noisy indie bands and rock bands from the shops. More Adele and Lady Gaga and Westlife and The Script and Cher Lloyd and Matt Cardle and Jedward. Real music that people can relate to and want to hear.

Fun is the only thing worth poking on that score.
