It looks simply beautiful, here's hoping there's a great english translation, as in DQVIII.

I wonder, if I win the Euromillions, if I could get them to make a game of Porco Rosso, after the style of Crimson Skies? Lots and lots of possibilities based on the Ghibli library of film classics.

What films would you like to see translated into games, from the Anime tradition?

    Master of the Universe

Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfield on the Wii. With tentacle motion control.

I can see other interesting Wiimote uses. You know that bit when the guy cuts off his junk and has to attach another 'powerful' glowing member?

Ah that's it, this has to be made. I'm writing a letter to Miyamoto now.

The epic battle of a man across the Plains of Africa taking the Diamonds of the slaves by dropping big rocks onto them

How about an Evagellion simulator where you have to shamefully **** onto the tits of the comatose Asuka?

This does nothing to assuage my "All Anime = Tenticle pr0n" theory* by the way.

That's the equivalent of saying all games are zombie games.

Sure, most of them are, but not all.

I have a sudden desire to own an iMac, one of these..
    imac-troubleshooting3.jpg
Not sure why, odd that given my normal allergic reaction to all Apple products bar my ipod classic.
Is there anything that can run on them?
Is there a decent version of Mame for example?

Appleseed - maybe a Metal Slug style run n gun.

Macross Plus: Sharon Apple Edition - a final cut style vj utility to create mind-blowing gigs in your own gaf.

My Neighbor Totoro Kart - Catbus.racing antics!

The Wings Of Honneamise - a Real3D PS3 SHMUP of epic proportions.

Is this not just Far Cry 2?
I mean, if there was a hack where your character was renamed Rockford you'd be set!

Official format magazines - easily one of the most lulzworthy sources of 'journalism' on this planet. Some particularly hyperbolic, ill-informed marketing from the OXBM review of Gears of War 3:
For the longest time, the Halo series has been the answer to the question, "Why should I buy an Xbox?" Frankly, Master Chief's franchise is the reason our platform exists. But while the future surely holds great things for Spartan 117, right now, the evidence is indisputable: Gears of War 3 is the ultimate realization of the Xbox 360 console, much in the same way Halo 2 was for the original Xbox.

Priceless, there are no depths to which these mouthpieces won't stoop.
I wonder how often, in OXBM lifespan, have they used "greatest game ever" or words to that effect?

Like it or not, in 5 years or so Gears will go the way of Crackdown, a fondly remembered game but left behind in favour of newer and shinier content, although Crackdown was far more ground breaking than the Gears series, imho

The only purpose they once served is redundant now with the growth of downloadable demos!

Now they're basically pornography for fanboys who don't understand what criticism is!

Mind, it's still worth getting the Official Nintendo Magazine, just for some encompassing documentation on what games are going to be cancelled/unlocalized, then to turn around try flog some tat as a killer app. Well, in the case of the Wii/3DS. The DS, on the other hand, has been well looked after.

The more I play the 3DS, the more I find it's not comfortable for long gaming sessions. On the plus side, at least thing will make the thing a bit more ergonomic to hold.

I had one a while ago and was going to try make a mame cab out of it but couldn't get the thing to power on so chucked it out :( They're also heavy as f*ck.

I remember the hassle I had when I brought the 5ft Mario into the house, and he was made of cardboard!

I dont think I could go to any of the big cons, especially TGS, I think I would just go bananas and wind up either in prison or the king of Japan. Or prison with the King of japan!

Only vaguely related aside, this story always makes me smile:

This English guy we befriended in our Tokyo hostel went off on his own one day. Ended up in a park, where he sat down on a bench to read a book. He noticed this guy in a suit and sunglasses looking at him suspiciously. Eventually the guy walks over to him and asks with he's doing. Bit of language trouble too, obviously. English guy says he's just reading a book or whatever. Eventually the guy in the suit starts getting more suspicious, asking where he's from etc... and asks him to leave while he makes it very clear that he's packing heat. English guy obviously stands up and gets the hell out of there.

Few moments later, a car passes by with a gloved hand waving out the window. Long story short: it was the Emperor of Japan.

    Anyone here playing Xenoblade Chronicles?

A mate of mine sent me a text saying it's the best game he's played in years. I don't really have time for JRPGs, but you can't really pass up something like that.

    Is it really that good?

/Edit - bollocks. Low print run = everywhere sold out and copies selling for stupid amounts on ebay. God damn it!

Most people seem to love it but the guy on Roleplayers Realm podcast said that the dungeons were too long and the battle system is a single player world of warcraft and some of the party members are useless. Said it was good but not the second coming that some people make it out to be. He says that on the other hand Last Story which is coming here soon is absolutely sublime and is the second coming.
