    I cross my sevens, and sometimes my fives look like an S. sometimes my 9's will be open, as does my 0's. I actually can't write straight, so my writing has a slant.

    Your fives look like superheroes.

    I can't find any consistent pattern in my own numbers - pretty much every digit has a few different variations.

    1: No-messing straight down line or a fancy little hat or even a European-style swishy bit that's as long as the body?
    Just a straight line.

    2: Not much room for manoeuvre but some prefer to loop a little before finising off the horizontal line
    I don't bother with that loop.

    3: Two curly bits or an angular top and roundy bottom?
    All curly. Don't like 3's with flat bits on top/

    4: Closed, like an A or open at the top?
    Open at top.

    5: Do you start or finish with the hat?
    Finish with the hat. That's the way I was thought in school so I've kept it up.

    6: Straight line down or curled, like an upside-down E?
    Wat sort of heathen puts a straight line in their 6? :eek: That form of 6 may be acceptable for digital watches and stuff but certainly not when written down. Curly all the way.

    7. Bar across the middle or no?
    No bar.

    8: Do you make the ends meet or not?
    Yes....otherwise it looks like someone started writing an 8, got lazy and left it unfinished.

    9: Circle and a straight line down or a single swirl?
    Circle and straight line. Single swirl is too swirly. A good 9 should have a strong, straight vertical tail. Not of this curly swirly malarky.

    0: Some bizarre twist on the classic circle/oval?
    No, but now that I've noticed how boring my 0's are I'm gonna have to try and improve them somehow....

    Had to have another look at that to see what you meant, they do a bit :D


    Its the number that goes against my slant, so it looks oddball against the others. I remember years ago reading up about writing styles and what they're supposed to mean. Even if you don't buy the whole thing, it's interesting reading. I was amused by this one;

    "Be wary of the person whose writing sways like the reeds"

    Hmm, when doing maths I always kept letters lower case for algebra/formulas to try and stop any confusion.

    4: open at the top, angled shorter vertical line, curves as it crosses the second horizontal line

    5: start with the hat

    6: curled, like an upside-down (elongated, and straightened) E

    7. Not always a bar across the middle (depends on how sloppy it looks), but usually a very small vertical line at the left hand side of the top line

    8: Do you make the ends meet or not? Yes, but often the end line goes above the start.

    9: Circle and a straight line down

    0: Some bizarre twist on the classic circle/oval? Is a diagonal line through it considered bizarre?

    I never use a pen and paper anymore. From the odd card I write I can only imagine how terribly unitelligable(sp?) it would be.

    5: Start with the hat. Weirdly, I do the horizontal left to right then back to the left to do my roundy bit. Do the same with capital Es

    6: Curly, but usually no time to make the end of the curl meet so it's left "open".

    7. No bar, though I have gone through phases of my life where I did a bar. I've stuck with no bar for many a year now though.

    8: Usually not enough time or inclination to make the ends meet.

    9: Circle and a straight line

    0: Just a regular attempt at a spherical.

    6: Around the loop, the number six rolls a loop!
    7: Across the sky and down from heaven, that's the way to make a seven!
    8: Make an s and do not wait that's the way to make an eight!
    9: Make a loop and then a line, that's the way to make a nine!

    Drummed into my head since when I was teaching infants!!!:o:o:o
