Lidl Kitchen Tap - will it fit my sink?

I bought a second hand ceramic sink that has been pre-drilled for a 35mm tap. I also bought a mixer tap with pull out spray head from Lidl last week. On reading the back of the tap box I see that it says 40mm cartridge. Can I use this with the sink? Can you make the hole larger or should I bring the tap back? :o

well the origianl taps had 3/4 inch copper pipe going direct into base of mixer, which narrowed at the top , to which looks like smaller than 1/2 inch,and a lenght of approx 6inch, these new flexi hose type are approx 18inch and even look narrower than the original at the top...also teh flexi is so long that there now a loop in it...which iam also doesnt help!
Cold Tap aint too bad, but with the low pressure of teh Hot tap there a marked differance!
