I think they just moved down the way?

You're right, just spotted it the other day. Funny how they moved to a less visable location...

In answer to another person's query... M&M newsagents in the shopping centre is definately gone.

A retail boost in Longford town

    Published Date:

    By Majella Reid
Longford's retail property market got a welcome boost this week with the announcement of a new retail outlet opening at 31 Ballymahon Street.
G.H. People will open its doors to the public on September 25 and in doing so promises to offer Longfordians a mixed shopping experience.

The business is located in the old Fabu outlet. The building has been completely renovated, although the exterior façade is the same.

G.H. People will be selling a variety of items including; clothing, accessories, kitchenware, bathroom and living accessories.

Frank Regan believes that there is room for further optimism in the property sector.

"We are receiving a number of enquiries for retail units in good locations," he says. Things may be beginning to roll again in the beleaguered property sector.

    :pac:

Ooh oohh I saw a new newsagent place near the jac - o - bite place where that ROC satellite place was before it moved ;)
    Exciting times  :o

It's just off from the Tesco car park, around where the Courtyard Café is.

I wonder would up where Argos is have being a better spot...not as much footfall but less browsers.

That would be suicide for a shop like that... all the stores out there are highly specialised (think Halfords, Homebase, etc.). Clothes shops like Grasshopper rely on browsers coming in, seeing something they like and buying it - not always there and then but they'll come back...

I heard from a friend that they're moving, not sure where. But to Heartbeat?! That's tinyyy.
I really hope it's not closed, I'm gonna miss my 1euro half-daycent cup of coffee the odd time I venture into town. :(

I know someone wanting a reasonably large retail unit and looked at close to Argos but next door to Halfords...the rent was even after all that has happened in the economy ...you have to be joking ...level

Agree there, that'd be too small in my eyes.. Plus I liked the area out the back, used to chill there with friends when we were having a coffee.
