I'm also pretty interested in joining the Music soc :)

Anyone know if there's a roleplaying society? >___>

Also, I'm trying to find info on the entry fees. I've applied for the Maintenance Grant and I'm wondering if they still apply to me, and how much they will be.
As I understand it at the minute, all first years must pay €93 for student services and non grant-approved students must pay an additional €2000. Is that it or am I missing something?

I can play a little bit of guitar, only the basics really. Atm I don't have as much commitment as I would like to but I hope to be a good player one day. I sing too, reasonably well but not the best.

Depending on what societies are good to go for commuters, I'd be interested in music society and I've heard a lot about Playdo! Also planning to look at Veggie soc, yoga soc and tea soc! :P I'll see what suits best when it comes time, anyway, pick a couple!

By the way, listened to some of that Abedisi Shank... it is good stuff!

Yeah I did too, about 3 days ago, asking for €2,093!

They send them out in batches, once the 1st round offers close, don't worry.
I got mine a good week before most of my friends, they just have so many to send out that it takes time :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44 JMcG92

Yay, got mine today. I've applied for the maintenance grant, so I think I just have to pay the €93. Happy days!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 577 ✭✭✭Paczini

    I'm just wondering
I am applying for my grants and I am sure that I will get them, however I won't have any confirmation for the next few weeks.
Do I have to pay 2000euro anyway or can I wait for the decition of my County Council?

You don't have to pay the 2K right away, just the e93. Say you're pending confirmation of the grant.

    If they argue, email me.

Once we pay the €93, are we issued Student ID cards?

Afaik you don't get the student card until you pay the full 2k/provide proof that your grant will pay the fees.
