    Will do, only thing I have on the Credit Card side of things is that there are two pre authorizations on my card for the full whack price! One is obviously an error and I have made them aware of it I but do hope the prices reduces as with all other retailers!

    Yeah in fairness to them they have been very responsive and claim to be making every attempt to be transparent. Not publishing a discount at a particular time is just a sensible techology strategy, rather then crashing and closing all your regular business streams.

    I made a pre-order on a 32 GB HP Touchpad via your website yesterday.
    18XX-XXXX-XXXX

    Will the price reduction be passed on to customers when charging?
    I was notified that I would be contacted to confirm being charged for the product
    before it ships... is that still the case?

    Got the following reply...

    Hello,

    for the moment we do not know the price as our suppliers don’t offer it at discount prices at least not at this time so your order is on hold till we will have the confirmation.

    You card has not been charged but the money has been reserved according the value of the order.

    we are in talks with suppliers right now but some far we got no reply or confirmation about this from them or HP directly if they will honour this rebate.

    If this is confirmed, we will contact all backorders and let them know the new price as soon as we will have confirmed information and asked them to RE-confirm the orders before shipping them out.


    Can't say fairer than that I suppose...

    Are you sure? I walked in 5 min ago and picked one up, they had they stacked on a pallet near the counter.

    I've never seen so many low post users posting on a thread and alot of the bitterness/anger is ridiculous.
    You'd think their very life depended on getting a Touchpad,an item 99% of the posters never heard of until this week.
    Its a luxury item ,and one that most people have no real use for .
    If I get one well and good if I dont its no big deal,I wont be getting my knickers in a twist ,losing sleep over it or threatening to execute Argos staff.

    Motorcycle Emptiness would be apt for this thread.

    Nabbed the last reservation in Naas argos last night at 7.30pm for the 32gig at full price and my sister collected it today for €145. Rang ahead to make sure it was there. Keep an eye out on the argos stock checker this evening and reservations that weren't collected might come back into the system
