I went for one of the Expansys pre-orders yesterday.
Listed as full price but supposedly the will confirm before charging credit card and shipping so I as hoping price reduction will be passed on.

On tracking orders page it is still listed as "not processed". Has anyone heard anything yet?
Or has your status changed on the tracking orders page?

I don't have a number but when I went into Argos in Dun Laoghaire yesterday morning, the woman I was talking to checked the warehouse system and said that all stores are sold out, and the warehouse won't get any units delivered until mid September (I think it was the 16th).

Mine changed this morning to Shipped.
But was changed over €400 for it.

no confirm email nothing.
Now they dont want to know. It's shipped and thats final!

I did eventaully get to speak to Zoe, who was helpful, and said not to accept the delivery, do a return to sender. I wont get a refund for the postage ,€15, but I'll get the cost of the Touchpad back

this was the nightmare scenario we all feared, it makes no sense for them to go through all that rigamarole though, they wont sell it to anyone for original value, they may as well give it to you for new cost price. Push back on it.

Well there's more than 3,500 posts and almost all of them are of people asking for spare reservation codes, reporting sites being swarmed with thousands of people and complaining about order cancellations.

"Missed it" is a bit of an understatement really.

My pre order on Expansys says it's still in pre order status.

One thing I have to say is why would Expansys put up a new page specifically asking for interest in getting a pre order unless they were very sure they were going to get more Touchpads?

Balls. Just saw the amazon email now. That's disappointing. If a giant like Amazon couldn't get stock I can't see the other smaller retailers being able to secure any. Ah well, guess it's time to wait for people to get sick of them and throw em on adverts

I have doubts they will get them - but they are clearly trying, and have handled the situation far better than any other company.

Just a few words from my lovely new Touchpad! Fired it up, logged into my existing Palm Profile & it updated itself pretty quickly. Most apps I have on my Palm Pre transferred right over, not all though but one that hasn't been working on the Pre(Txtcrypt) now seems to work on the Touchpad. Pre apps run in a smaller window which is very neatly made to resemble the front of a Pre done! Much better than Apples initial window on the ipad1. There's an update waiting to be installed and it does run much better once this is done, it took about 15/20mins for me on my connection start to finish. A couple of cautionary words... Do not charge using a Pre charger, it says the current isn't sufficient. Also, I can't get my original touchstone to work, it won't even stick on to use as a support, no idea if it's just me though...

I really like typing on this thing though, touch typing isn't out of the question.

I really want a Pre3 to go along with this! I haven't attempted to pair my Pre1 yet though...

From people on Twitter it looks like Dabs are adjusting orders over 1 back to just 1. Hopefully that means everyone who managed to get an order in will at the very least be getting a Touchpad, as it seems they may have oversold.

To be fair to FNAC, they've been very honest and up-front on their Twitter also.

I don't think anyone (or VERY few) with outstanding orders will be getting them at this stage.

Possibly, but they would have gotten a bigger response and therefore more mail addresses it they had mentioned they were going to reduce the price at some stage yesterday.
They didn't do this to my knowledge.
