Still no word back from them. Not hoping for much at this stage. I will say this, who ever is behind the organising of this it's bloody disgraceful.

Holding out for so long on people and not telling them are they at the next stage or not.

I have sent them two e-mails asking basically what's going on. No reply back to either.

A few keystrokes with a keyboard and pop a few e-mail addresses into the computer screen and tell us, Yes or No.

Done my phone interview on Monday, again Emily said 15 minutes but mine was only 10, was a bit annoyed with myself as I messed up a question in the middle and thought that she cut it short and I was out, but got the call this morning and will be visiting Citywest next week, so a short phone interview is not necessarily bad.

Look at it this way maybe you gave concise answers that got to the point while others waffled a bit and that's why it was shorter, good look to all still waiting.

    Why not call them?

Is an e-mail not as good as a phone call these days ? Do you have a number for them and I will give them a ring tomorrow.

contact details, as seen at the bottom of an email i got

    Freephone: 1800 50 60 70
    Email: apprentice@eircom.ie
    Website: www.eircom.net/apprentice

afaik, the phone number gets you through to the company doing the screening process, rather than eircom, but thats who you want to talk to really.

I applied on July 25th, did the aptitude tests on July 27th, got a phone call 8 days later on August 4th to say I had a phone interview today.

Just after finishing it (16 minutes in total) and think it went fairly well.
I'd be hopeful to get through to the next round so fingers crossed.

The lady said the next round is a day assessment in Dublin with some hands-on tasks.
Then a one-to-one interview followed by a medical / eye test.
Salary is 19k for first year.
Hours are 8:30 to 5 Mon to Fri, no shift work and the locations are Drogheda, Dundalk, Dublin and Portlaoise.

    Good luck everyone!!

Oh and are most of you males or are there any other females getting on successfully??

    Quick update.....

got a call on Thursday (August 11th) to say I got through to the next round.

I'll be in Citywest on Wednesday next, August 17th.
Just got the email and I'll be there from 9:45 for 3 hours.

Best of luck apparantly 2% of total applicants were female so its good to see that you will get to assessment stage

wonder how many are left in the running ... anyone been for an interview yet ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 318 ✭✭focusowner

well the good news for those that reached assessment stage is that ur in the last 300 and i think that this week is the last week of assessments from what i could make out

as for the day itself nothing that can be told that wont ruin it for you or those that are yet to do it apart from the following

    turn up early

dress smart ( dont turn up in trainers and a hoodie) shirt and trousers type of thing

be polite , the instructors are very nice and be nice in return

    relax its not too stressful

speak up when they ask a question and keep quiet when ur supposed to listen and you wont go too far wrong

    ps best of luck

found out that they will be taking on 70 apprentices instead of the original 50 due to the high volume and calibare of the applicants.

approx 6000 applied and 6% were chosen for the assessment stage

assesments running this week into next week and then the interview selections will take place,

will be let know by phone call either way
