    Relax its all good...we are moving towards "light touch moderation"

    heavy moderation was stifling creativity and reducing postcounts.

    Being a mod on here is a joke when you think about it.

    You do a job and dont get paid for doing it.
    I mean, there is a big long thread about the Internships and how alot of people feel you'd be a fool to do a job for free.

    is being a boards.ie mod any different?

    But at the end of the day boards.ie is a business. That revenue from ads go to someones pocket :pac:

    I mean, wouldnt every business love to have a majority of work force that you dont have to pay?

    But to be serious,
    think about it. Boards.ie obviously want this board to be run a certain way (pretty much the forum charter sums up what way) but also dont want any legal action too. So mods are a necessary on both fronts.

    Which, leads back to the question ... if they are a necessity. Why expect people to work for free? in fact why do people work for free?

    different story if boards was a regular forum. But its a business. Its no different than getting people to stack the shelves in a supermarket for free.

    it's all gone downhill since biko, dr.bollocko, Hot Lips, KeithM89, Micky Dolenz, Rabies, super-rush, The Master, AlmightyCushion, g'em, kbannon, randylonghorn and trout became mods.

    Wasters the whole lot of them. I'm sure i'm not the only one who'd like to blast 'em with piss...
