Do you like any unusual smells? I know fresh cut grass isn't an unusual one but for me its even better when mixed with the smell of fresh sweat and deep heat coz that combination is the smell of football.

I also just realised this morning that I love the smell of timber being cut. My dad is putting a wooden floor down in my sitting room and the house smells wonderful.

    old pub smell.

Kind of a mix of about 60% guinness 30% tobacco 9% dry roasted peanuts 1% piss. You don't get it any more since the smoking ban of course.

Fresh cigarette smoke - even though I've never smoked.

    Turf and coal burning.

The whiff of a brand new book or copybook when opened - the only thing I enjoyed when going back to school!

I love garlic too, but I find it difficult to use. I'll use a fair bit in e.g. chilli, and can hardly taste it in the chilli... but then it comes out through my skin for the next week. I don't mind, but I suspect others might not be as keen ... :o

Another smell I love is fenugreek, known as methi in Indian cooking. I don't quite know how to describe it ...

Oh God yeah, I'd almost forgotten about that.... The Gillabbey Tavern in Cork always had that when you walked past, used to love just inhaling it when walking past. Although I'm all for the smoking ban, I miss that smell :( Now all you can smell is sweat and farts :(

    Tar

    Sulpher after lighting a match
Old pubs years ago, especially when I was a child passing the windows outside.
Pipes, my great grand mother used to smoke one and I just love the smell. :D
    The sea
    Warm bread and bread baking.
Garlic but not on someone's breath.
    Oxtail soup.

    Freshly spread slurry.

Exhaust fumes from a diesel engine on a cold morning just after starting especially an old tractor or cement mixer etc.
