Joining a Gym while awaiting Physio?

Just a quick question - I'm considering joining a local gym but have a back problem. Have had scans & xrays and require physio (it's ligament damage). Am losing weight gradually (while the weight isn't causing the back problem, it's not helping) but wondering if it's worth my while joining a gym while I'm waiting for this physio appointment in 3wks? Would the gym even accept me with a back problem or could they give me some exercises to help with the back problem while I wait for the apt?

At the moment, I'm walking alot (while taking anti-inflammatorys) but am keen to start some more structured exercise asap. Thanks alot.

IMO if you need physio then you need physio. Don't risk making things worse for the sake of a few weeks. Just watch what u eat in the mean time ...

I'd wait until you see a physio. But if you're so keen on getting a move on with things, why are you going to wait for three weeks until you see them?

I am keen, it's a mixture of when I can take time off work and when the physio closest to home can see me.

I've stuck with the walking for now - I'm walking through the pain (with a few anti-inflammatories thrown in!).
