    A paedophile isn't necessarily someone who rapes kids - paedophilia just means they're turned on by kids. They can't help it. They don't have to act on those urges and I'm sure there's more people than you'd think out there who feel this way. It's just we only ever hear about the abusers.

    I disagree, it is not a sexual orientation, they are seriously ill, and although their illness is not contagious, they should be Quarantined for the good of the community.

    as for your kneejerk emotive response, many many people said that about and even DID that to Homosexuals not too long ago.

    Homosexual acts between consenting adults were still Crimes in this country In my Lifetime.

    No doubt there are countless people in the world that find children sexually attractive. It may be distasteful that they fantasize about children, but as long as they didn't act on their desires I wouldn't be calling for their heads.

    I once watched a documentary on the subject where a few of them were in treatment, they had never offended. One described it as a feeling a "normal" man gets when looking at an attractive woman, an instinct, difficult to suppress it as it was an instant automatic thought.

    There's a differentiation between being a paedophile and acting on one's paedophilic tendencies. I don't sympathise with those who act on their urges. Obviously.

    It's cool I'm done posting in this thread didn't come in to derail the thread anyway.

    Probably will get a ban (probably another one from micky dolenz no less) but what can you do, it's a mild inconvenience at worst. A simple log out would mean I could view the forum again anyway. Anyway the thread on humanities is good if anyone wants to read it, some knowledgeable people weighed in on the subject big tiiiime

    I read that thread and there is some ignorance in it, i know loads of lads who fancy 15yr old girls but would not act upon it for legal reasons etc, based on lots of what people are saying there they should be kept away from society even though they dont act upon there fancying the girls, much like i might like to take clthes from a shop but don't, does not make 1 a robber!!

    It's not really paedophilia to fancy a 15year old though because a 15 year old would be pubescent :confused:. Illegal and immoral, but not paedophilia.

    No, I don't - nor could I ever feel any sympathy towards someone that way inclined. Would you sympathise with a mass murderer? In my opinion paedophiles who act on their urges are worse than any murderer, their victims do not recover, nor can they ever fill the gap left in their lives. As said they're animals, a scourge of society.

    No matter what anybody says, they're not "confused" they're sick, wrong things.

    I saw this somewhere on here I think;

    Paedophiles are attracted to children
    Child molesters molest children

    Just because someone is one doesn't mean they're the other.

    And I think I saw that documentary someone was referring to. It was about treating people attracted to children. It was awful to watch. People absolutely repulsed by their own nature and angry at themselves for what they potentially could become. And they could do nothing to stop it. Even with castration they'd still have a mental attraction. You have to feel sorry for someone for being that way. That sympathy stops when they act on it though.

    Them be wronguns your hanging around with. Normal people would fancy 15 year old but wouldnt do anything for moral reasons.

    Same as the people who dont steal based on the fact they might get caught are the people looting in London. The people who dont steal because its wrong are at home avoiding the trouble.

    If the law is the only thing from stopping a person from acting on their sexual urges then they should seek professional help.
