As I said, apart from his back mp the rest need to be timed properly. You do the heavy ruffian too early or close the opponent will jump right over you and his standing hk will only work at certain ranges.

Is good I've decided to learn one of those then, eh :)

Also, Sakura has the best anti-air, down fierce beats absolutely everything.

Heaven forbid you might have to time a move properly

    What I wouldn't give for one of Cody's anti-air options........even the timed ones!!?!:D

Saying a character with as many options, in every situation (he has wake up with EX), as Cody needs buffs is ridiculous, a dead and dumb argument....

Thats not a good wakeup move though ken, you can cr.lp him on wakeup and still block it.

Aye, Vega really doesn't have much to work with on that front.

    Did scarlet terror get buffs?

    Really? Thanks for that! :)

As for Scarlet terror, Capcom said they were going to buff it, but I have yet to see any improvement..

Sakura's down fierce is easily empty jumped. And some moves beats it out clean like Honda's j.mp, Vega's j.hp, Blanka's j.hk, off the top of my head

I agree that vega needs some sort of invincibility frames on at least one of his moves to make him have a viable wake up option.. it's kinda ridiculous at this stage.

    I think my character's great.

The word cheap is often tossed around at times with my characters name in the same sentence.

I also use cheap tactics like blocking

You think every character is great.

Seriously though, my characters are all great.

Seconded. Yun and Sakura are awesome.

Yeah, you're always telling me how much you love Honda!

its only because of this fine tuning, people have been constantly complaining and moaning, after the final one, i hope there is a small period of bitching and complaining followed by silence. Thats it, your character is final.
Dont think people ever complained as much in previous incarnations of SF.
Your character is ****? DAYMN, pick a different one

I do love Honda, but he's boring to play as.

    Effective, but boring.

    Damn!

Did this happen in Super ?, if so I'm surprised nobody noticed it till now

Ooooh azza I remembered 2 more Guile nerfs mentioned in the dev log- Guile's UDK has reduced damage, as does his sweep (I think, second hit).

Well Gen didn't have his TC's in super so who knows? I suppose you could try doing cl. HK Gekiro and see if it whiffs on the alt in Super. I don't have the costumes for Cody so I can't try it.

Its not that big an issue because you'd normally just do lk. Gekiro after the TC because it hits the furthest. TC > HK Gekiro is character specific you see.

Although I get you, I don't necessarily agree with what you're saying.

For example: my missus can't make a cup of tea to save her life, but I wouldn't ditch her as she has other talents which make her worth holding on to...

Hoovering and laundry management are the two that immediately spring to mind...

    decent analogy but not applicable,
If your Mrs, started to cheat on you, you could replace her with a new Mrs

I understand why people would complain, its only natural, but people comparing to vanilla now is like people talking about sean in SF3:2nd impact

    Ban on alt costumes please.

This time it's a justified ban!

Yeah but see some people only want one Mrs, and don't like trading, because they learn all about that Mrs and changing her out would be a pain.

Whereas some people swop their Mrs as soon as a better one comes along.

Alot of people simply don't like the balance changes in AE in particular. As Hound is fond of saying, for example, Guile "had his balls ripped off". The game is less fun to me as a result. I think some of the nerfs are ok and wouldn't mind them, as Super can have a pretty heavy defensive skew in some match ups, but they pretty clearly went OTT with them.

The Deejay buffs don't really make it up for me :D

You can say what you want but the 2 best (IMO) tournament players in the country both really dislike the game compared to Super. Surely that means something. One is playing T Hawk out of frustration. The other effectively had his main removed from the game. These are not scrubby moaners, they're people who've invested time in the game, are clever players and represented all of us at an international level.

(Hound doesn't count because he just likes every character in the game anyway :D )

Its human nature to moan about balance in games. You hear it alot in RTS games.

I'm sure the people who played SF 2 and SF 3 alot did do some complaining too but the internet is much more prevelant than it was back then and the fighting game scene is bigger now.

Fighting games were never bigger than back in SFII's heyday.....but we were all too busy arguing about the best way to get to Sheng Long to worry about balance issues.

Lol yeah, until maybe '98 maybe I would have never even heard of the term "hit confirm" and SF2 was dead in the water then.

The interesting thing here is that the AE balancing has had such a negative response that Capcom would spend the manpower and money the entire development life cycle would take for a rebalance.

I'm imagine fighting games are bigger now. Maybe when arcades where still around the casual scene was bigger but I doubt any of us knew much about high level play or balance back then.

During the WW/CE/HF days arcades in Ireland were full of good players. You had to be good if you wanted the small amount of money you had to last long.

Option selects may not have been known about (not even sure if they exist in the CPS1 games), but SF II is such a simple game that high level strategy has not changed much in twenty years.
