    slane 95 was REM.

I still have my Slane 95 REM T-Shirt, it stills fits me (defying the laws of physics!) and it still looks like new, even though i wear it all the time. It's a miracle T-shirt.

REM and Oasis, both on top form, what a day.

Best year ever for music. I remember putting my Walkman on and hearing this for the first time, magic ...

Drinking rum and coke on Lahinch beach and feeling like your were in the Caribbean. God I hope we get another summer like 95.

Dance weekenders in Henrys and Felie down the Paric in one almighty long summer. It really did not rain for three months.

I was just finished first year in college, and was doing what was called 'the summer scheme'. It was essentially local employment for students that paid £600 for 6 weeks 'work'. There were about 6 of us going around the local town ostensibly doing work for the local tidy towns committee. We strimmed hedges, painted an old house and generally just laid in the grass sweltering in the 25+ degree heat for most of the time. Best summer weather here in my memory anyhow. Most of the summers in the 90's were terrible though, although during my leaving in 94 it was cracking as well obviously.

06-08 + '11 I just have sharp and clear recollections of rain.

Its probably just my nostalgia I know the summers were hotter on average in the 90s werent they yeah?
2006 had a heatwave during most of july, 2007 was shïte, 2008 was very shïte, 2009 was shïte, 2010 was shïte and now 2011 is shïte too.

I moved to Dublin in March '95 with my then 1 year old son. I remember for that summer that the weekends home to Salthill in Galway felt like going to the Med!!
Was hotter here than some European resorts, will we ever see that again??

    Unreal summer:)

    Ah yes, what a summer.
I remember chilling on the beach with my Beano eating a Mr. Freeze, like a boss.

This was out at the time:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_Without_a_Summer At least we didn't get a summer like 1816 this year.

Looking back I think it was the year that the whole Britpop thing got too big for its boots and stale. Some good releases like the charlatans but with Country house vs Morning glory and all that keeping genocide in the balklands off the front pages it couldnt last.

Ah the trip to Tipp :)
Féile was a music festival held in the Republic of Ireland between 1990 and 1997. Most years it was in Semple Stadium in Thurles, North Tipperary, hence the nicknamed of "The Trip to Tipp". In 1995, it was held in Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork city; Féile 96 was indoors at the Point Depot in Dublin. Féile was generally a three-day festival held over the bank holiday weekend in early August. In 1996 it was in July; in 1997, it was reduced to a single day in late August.

    1995

The Féile name was retained but the concert moved to Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork city. The campsite was further from the venue, diminishing the festival atmosphere. Acts included The Prodigy whose performance was disrupted twice by power cuts, The Stone Roses, Orbital, Paul Weller, Elastica, Ash and The Devlins. Kylie Minogue appeared in the sidebar at an early stage in her transition from teenybopper to dance queen

I was 14 in 1995, the best summer of memory. It was a great summer to be "growing up". It was full of many first time experiences. If I had a chance to go back to anywhere in my past, thats where I would go. These songs capture it perfectly for me.

    1995 - the year I got my first car - a 1981 Ford Fiesta.

It was a heap of shiiitee but it was my heap of shiiitee!:D:D:D

I spent the summer weekends driving around with the windows down, my gang of friends squeezed into the car for trips to the beach, we listened to mix-tapes recorded from the radio...

    oh nostalgia!:D
