Raw red onion in a salad or caramelised onion in the pan to go with a steak or something meaty.

    Abso-fookin-lutely

You know when you're at a soccer match and you just have a hankerin' for some curry chips from the horrible van. I put a nice dollop of the chopped onions (meant to be for burgers, i imagine) into the sauce - mmmmmm

it does get some strange looks

Onions and garlic fried are the basis of every single trouser-wettingly good dish. I actually finished myself off thinking about that.

An image of slugs squirming around in mashed potatoes comes to mind.

I'm surprised so many people like them! I don't mind if they're used to flavour sauce but I couldn't eat one on its own.

Oh and the little roast to a crisp onion pieces ya get. I used to have to buy them on the continent but they are stocking them in Tesco now, Danish they are. Bloody gorgeous, sprinkled over anything. Add a bit of crunch to sandwiches, onto spuds, over a fry up, into a sauce, it's all good.

I used to wear an onion on my belt, it was the fashion at the time.

I'm a bit extreme but I really hate the feckers.
Dont like their smell but it's the texture that makes me gag. If I was to bite into even the smallest piece unsuspectingly I'm not sure I could stop myself from vomitting.
When I order Chinese (which I love) I have to make it clear that it should be onion free and I also check when the order arrives, if there are onions present I wont eat it and I go into a sulk for a couple of hours.
It's a real pain because it's a basic ingredient in most dishes I love, especial curries.
I wish I could like or even tolerate but I cant. Damn you God!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

    Raw - NEVER.

Trying to show off one time I ate a half onion raw like an apple. Served me right as I had stomach cramps for a full day afterwards. Gobsh*te.
