    Vader was not always confined to his "suit", his destruction of the Jedi Temple and execution of Separist Leadership was before he was suited up.

    Vader, no contest.

    If hand to hand combat Maul wins , as he was trained in hand to hand combat with an emphasis on fighting those with force abilities.

    However he was to be used as an assassin and was never given proper Sith training or taught how to fully master the force (Though he did have some use of it).

    In an over all fight Vader is over all more powerful and has a much better mastery of the force and duelling experience.

    I would give it to both pre suit and suited Vader hands down. He would not loose to an apprentice who hasn't even completed his training. I think it would be pretty one sided.
