Women who moan about lack of equality then don't pay their way.

I'm all for spending my money on a girl but only if she is banned from the voting booth.

A random beautiful woman walks up to a man on the street.
"I think you're very attractive, would you like to have sex tonight?"

    Majority of men would agree.

A random beautiful man walks up to a woman on the street.
"I think you're very attractive, would you like to have sex tonight?"

    Majority of women would decline.

Why? For men sex has no consequence. For women it might result in getting pregnant so they are more selective instinctively.

I can't speak for all women, but I would think that's completely wrong. the reason I would turn someone down isn't anything to do with the possibility of becoming pregnant!

It was a psychology experiment. Very interesting

The 16 women who were staying on the Florida State University campus in Tallahassee found themselves on the receiving end of a very direct chat-up line. A young man approached them and, without more ado, said, "I have been noticing you around campus. I find you to be very attractive. Would you go to bed with me tonight?" All the women declined, responding either by saying "You’ve got to be kidding", or "What is wrong with you? Leave me alone."

Out of the 16 men who were approached in the same way by a woman, 12 took up the offer. Their responses were "Why do we have to wait until tonight?" or "I can’t tonight, but tomorrow would be fine."

The psychologist Russell Clark, who carried out this experiment, wanted to find out how the sexes responded differently to sexual advances.

Clark was certain that the reason for this difference lay in the asymmetrical biology of the sexes: "In order to produce a child, men need only to invest a trivial amount of energy, a single man can conceivably father an almost unlimited number of children. Conversely, a woman can give birth to and raise only a limited number of children."
The different cost of sex for men and women was, then, a direct cause of the behaviour that Clark had noticed in his experiment. Women are selective, whereas men are basically prepared to go to bed with any woman. In contrast to the women, who all reacted with outrage to the offer of sex, the four men who didn’t accept were concerned to give the women an excuse, either by saying "I’m married" or "I’m going with someone".

You wouldn't do it because your emotions force you not to do it; and your emotions are a type of mechanism to stop you getting pregnant with an unsuitable male, amongst many other reasons.

In fairness, I think most men would be freaked out by a woman doing this or assume its a joke!

so an experiment with 16 men and women involved, is meant to speak for the general population? and the reasoning behind it comes from the guy running it, not the people who took part..? right...

What part do you not agree with? It's the same for men and women, the emotions we happen to feel plays a huge part in the decisions we make then we rationalize a reason why we made our choice.

so you're assuming no woman would agree, in that situation. my problem with it is you're saying a woman that has sex with a guy must ultimately deem him suitable to be the father of her child.

I'm not assuming no women would agree, of course some would. When a woman has sex with a man while not on the pill during ovulation I'd say her instincts deems him suitable genetically not necessarily a suitable Father.

I hate the way it's always 'our car', 'our kid' but her tits. That's feminism for you.

so you think if a woman were approached like this during ovulation she'd be likely to turn him down? hmm, that view I'd find interesting alright. just there was no mention of ovulation as far as I could see.

I hate the way some women refer to a baby as hers even when her husband is beside her!

My friends wife on occasion would talk about 'my baby' directly to her husband who is the father. He constantly has to say 'our baby' back to her!

Kinda feel sorry for the guy, it upsets him!

    To clarify my views:

When asked for sex like in the experiment vastly more men would say yes than women regardless of the time of the month.

This is because men are genetically programmed to spread their seed far and wide if possible whereas women must be more selective who they have sex with. Men and women don't think about it like this though they just respond to how their emotions are guiding them, but their emotions are guiding them with the above programming in built. During ovulation though women do go for more masculine men with better genetics when choosing a sex partner.

Sex for a woman is very intimate and involves a lot of thought and romance. For a man it's very physical, that's pretty much it. So when a woman is considered a 'slut' it just means she kind of thinks like a man. Which can be intimidating I guess.

When either gender refer to oral sex being a "present".

Some of my friends talk about giving their fellas oral only on their birthdays or if they've "been good."

A large majority of my male friends (perhaps in bitter retaliation) very rarely or don't return the favour.

    Give and get, nothing better!

how most men will always pick the slapper who trows herself at them over the nice, friendly and respectable girl.

Its called the law of averages, larger the test group the more accurate the result. Its how nearly all large scale testing is done in scientific groups regarding cross sections, also its what the inscurance industry metric is based upon and both science and the inscurance industry seem to be doing just fine for a long long time based on this proven method.

yeah that's fine, and i quite agree that's possible but what i'm pointing out is that the article didn't mention anything to do with ovulation or cycles, so why even bring that into it?

but my point is they've used very small amounts of men and women, not large groups that may give a true representation.

    Because:

    A) They know the slapper wants it.
    B) The nice friendly respectable girl's hints are sub-sonic.

Just like them adds on the telly, 73% of 56 people agree... :pac:

so why do most men not want to put in the work of making conversation?
