    you'd wonder sometimes....

Gosh Ger, it seems you only come online to give out about other online wrestling fans. What did you think of the show?

Only got to watch Raw just now.

Have to say I really enjoyed the Cena Vs Rey match and it was great to hear JR calling the action.

I kind of agree that it was maybe a bit early to bring Punk back but id rather see Cena Vs Punk at Summerslam then Cena Vs Del rio/Miz/Truth etc

I havent watched the show yet but did Punk come through the crowd or from the back with the title and why was he in wrestling attire?

Nope, came out from the back with the title (now with CM Punk nameplate) and in trunks and the "Best in the World" t-shirt from Summerslam.

that second option is far better than something akin to Vince buying back RAW from Trump for double the price. (Just lazy booking!). I wish Punk didn't go straight back into the WWE machine so quickly. Could he not have spent a few weeks disrupting the show or something?

Who said he won't be disrupting the show?

Ha, didnt get to watch the end last night, but does anyone else find it funny that they used an uncensored version of the song?

seems to be officially done with nexus so.

New music, new titantron and new "best in the world" minitron means he's part of the system now. You don't "invade" if you're welcomed back and they cue your music.

I'm sure the Nexus angle wouldn't have initially gone over so well if they had "We Are One" blaring and matching t-shirts before they came out. Takes out all apparent spontenaiety and disruption.

I hope wwe sells them Punk shirts for 50c just to make those toffie eating sad acts that paid hundreds feel like bigger fúcking eejits.
I almost thought for a minute that we'd see a group beatdown on Cena when I heard the music a beatdown by Punk,Ace Steele & Cabana(who'll no doubt be resigned thanks to Punk)

that would've been amazing, if he came out, waved behind him and Cabana and Co came out with him. It'd have maximum impact. ah we're spitballin' here, it's good to see Punk back but it wasn't the home run we've been spoilt with over the past month.

exactly. Even though imo it is a week to soon to bring him back it could have worked out much better. Now it looks like he just wanted a week off and would Punk himself be happy with just showing up for a 2 minute entrance. It would have had more of an effect if he was just on the titantron and cut a promo on Cena or it cut to HHH in the back and Punk comes into picture and signs a contract or whatever.

Punk clearly was never going to sign one of Mcmahon's contract and he seemed to be pretty set in his beliefs. To bring him back after 1 week we should have been given a very good reason, and that we didn't get.

We didn't get a good reason.... yet. Would have had less impact if Punk then started explaining everything. Him and Cena holding up the titles is a great image and would make a lot of people want to tune in next week

I really think he should be. Even if it's just for a week; just to shake up SD and let people know he's not a "RAW talent". Plus he's to sort out Cole.

True but why rush him back after all thats happend then?? Why not just wait for next week or week after to bring him back and instead leave us tonight with a teaser of a possible return.

Look, I'll admit that at 4 in the morning, I felt the same about him coming back so early. I was loving the random appearances everywhere. But in retrospect, if he had not returned, this forum would have blow up with people saying "WWE's drop the ball by giving Cena the title again and screwing Rey Rey big time".

They made a fool of Mysterio last night and damaged the reputation of the WWE Championship even further. If Punk had not returned, everyone would think the WWE title inconsequential because the new champ (having already undergone a Championship match earlier in the night) had to defend against a fresh John Cena (who has defeated men twice/three times Rey's size).

Short Championship reigns do nothing for the talent, or the Championship. If it's that easy to win the WWE title, Zack Ryder could claim it next week.

But by bringing Punk back, it throws everything into question. SInce he left only a week ago with the title, he is still considered the rightful WWE Champion so Rey could not have won the title in the first place. Basically, the two title changes and the tournament never happened ...... right?

That's my thinking on it too. That Punk is the REAL WWE champion, so the tournament and Cena's win are null and void.

Done far too quick in my opinion, hoped they'd drag him being away from the company a bit longer but I guess having him on TV as soon as possible = more dollars.

Unfortunately Punk's lot a bit of credibility by coming back so quickly. They could've kept punk going via viral videos and eventually him cutting a promo whenever they have a new WWE champion via satellite.

Man, if only SummerSlam or some RAW was back in Chicago, it'd make perfect sense for him to be there (as a fan).

I think holding off for a week or two would've been prudent, we're not close to SummerSlam and by keeping the angle simmering they only needed to announce the match (Cena Punk) 13 days before the PPV.

    Something that hit me...

The reason against turning Cena heel for so long now has been that there wouldn't be anyone able to fill the spot he leaves. Well....has Punk now grown big enough that he could? I mean the grown fans adore him, he'd be an awesome role model for kids....

I dont think he's lost credibility. You cant say that just because he didn't stay away as long as you wanted him to. In case you haven't noticed, Punk is "White-hot" right now and not to capitolise on that for their second biggest PPV, SummerSlam (which is only 3 weeks away btw) would be insane.

You're also forgetting that Punk obviously negotiated a super deal to return (he really was leaving) and you have to believe he has some creative imput to that end. He would not have come back last night unless he had a bigger plan for the next 3 weeks. Just calm down and enjoy the fallout. I'm sure you'll tune in to RAW next week regardless of how much you berate it.

    cm punk: i'm baaaaaaaaaaaaackkkkkk

me: u left like a week ago

Berate's a strong word! I'm not angry or anything; it's just a step down from the 'amazing' we've been spoilt with over the last month.

I don't wanna repeat myself but this is what i'd retort with (a post of mine from the last page)

As partyndbs pointed out "say goodbye to John Cena, say goodbye to CM Punk". Cena didn't miss a segment; and within 8 days of supposedly being fired he got his WWE title back. CM Punk was absent for one show. Last year Cena getting fired; he never left. Punk even chastised Cena over not leaving!

Even when Al Snow and Coach "won" the commentary team match against JR and King; they were on RAW for three weeks before getting booted off!

I felt they condensed a few weeks worth of storylines into one night; unfortunately they didn't give the developments the time to sink in that WWE has done in the past.

I really hope Punk can set it right next week :)

Its too early to tell i think. His positive reaction might still be based on the fact that he is beating Cena, not that he himself is over. The only way for this to last is for Punk to come out of this fued like Batista came out of his fued with HHH after leaving Evolution; he has to win every encounter against Cena. If he loses to Cena, then this whole storyline will be remembered as a way to improve Cena's reputation even more, and not as the time when CM Punk became a top player in the company.

I think they brought Punk back too early as well. I understand that they couldn't have a champion for a few weeks only to bring back Punk and then cancel the new championship, but it could have been avoided if they had dragged out the tournament. If they had the tournament play out over another week or 2, they could have brought Punk back in the exact same way without having it feel so rushed.
