On a scale of one to ten?

Not drinking right now but man could I murder one, maybe it's the summer air but I'd walk to an off licence right now if there were one opened, or a 24hr tesco, stupid law prevents people from drinking when they want!

I love beer, but I prefer wine.

The hangovers are also more sophisticated. :D

I love beer because it gives me hangovers.

Wine doesn't. Well not when drinking sensibly anyway.

6 cans, feel a bit dopey.

One bottle red, not a bother.

But even the word beer is better than wine

Or maybe I just don't get wine hangovers, coz like I just don't get them.

    I'm too dim to

I love a nice cold beer on a hot day, but wouldn't go for pints really. Only thing that can beat a nice beer on a nice day is a lovely glass/jug of Pimms with all the trimmings! Drool!!! Beer gets a 7, Pimms gets a 10 :D

You do realise Guinness is a beer?

I voted 10, I loves me a beer. In fact the "What beer are we drinking this week" thread is probably the thread I post most in, along with the beer/wines/spirits forum in general. I don't usually venture here with my beer talk, because if someone mentions they enjoy craft beers, they're usually labelled a beer snob.

Isn't guinness an ale and not a beer?

    Nope.

Can't beat a good wheat beer.

I wonder how many people on here have never tasted wheat beer.

Ale and lager are two types of beer, the difference is something to do with the yeast fermenting on the top for one, and the bottom for another. Guinness is a stout, which is a type of ale, which is a type of beer.

I wish it were winter so we could freeze it into ice blocks and skate on it and melt it in the spring time and drink it!

Ah right. I'd actually meant to say stout, but stout is an ale, as you say.

    Carry on :pac:

Answer... With a passion. when the cool slippage of beer touches my lips I melt into a glory of happiness for some time and then the melancholy comes to fruition when I am on my last beer.

Well I suppose its arguable but me and two fello's are hoping to go to Munich, possibly for oktoberfest although we haven't really done much research yet. When I say much I mean we haven't at all. Mostly just for the fact that all the beer surrounds you in a confined space!

Actually does anyone have any experience of oktoberfest?
