Appears to be quite the educated person, quite bizarre really, must of had a rocky road in life to become so twisted.

RIP to the innocents. Love to Norway!

Interestingly, those interests only look sinister/suspicious in hindsight.

Sadly and as usual its not these interests the media are focusing on, but the fact that he's listed Call of Duty as an interest on his profile, typical

BBC radio had an interview with a survivor, he was shot in the upper arm. He noted that he was confronted twice, the first time it was him alone and the killer chose not to pull the trigger. The second time the fella was in a group and the killer fired at the group. So it appears he needed to have an "anonymous" group to aim at rather than be able to eyeball someone close up.

    Makes sense.

I still wouldn't see anything in them to suggest he is capable of blowing people up and shooting young people to be honest.

No, nor would I. But what happens after these kinds of things is that people start kind of amateur profiling, going on about what kinds of TV shows and games he was interested in. And in hindsight those interests can be made to look like 'indicators'.

This must be the most people that one man has managed to kill in such a short space of time ever? Astonishing stuff

Not to diminish this, but Jonestown would be one example of how much death one person can actually bring about...

Not really. Enjoying hunting or being conservative or christian don't equal homocidal maniac or child killer in my opinion.

Plenty of people have the same interests or ideas and are perfectly normal.

Probably when it comes to gunfire alright.

    Here's some other notable overachievers.

I know that. I'm just saying that this is what people/the media tend to do in an attempt to explain how something like this can happen. Never said they were right to do so.

The school shootings in the US, for example, one of the first pieces of information about the killers is what video games they play and are 'obsessed' with, or whatever. They imply that one causes the other.

You can't ignore the influences that made him the way he is or led him to his actions.

Are you seriously suggestion the games one plays can influence their political point of view? That would be just absurd.

What? I have no idea what influences made him the way he is. How could I possibly ignore them when I don't know what they are?!

If you're suggesting that his interests caused him to kill more than 90 people, then I'd put it to you that perhaps it could have been 'the way he is' that made him interested in particular things rather than the other way around. Or, alternatively - let's not assume stuff.

Of course you can't but let the Police investigation team find those influences, speculating by media from facebook pages info and the like is deplorable!

How is it absurd? Some people do nothing but play online games. Where else would they get their influences? Maybe it's just a coinicdence his method of getting his message out was so similar to Call of Duty or maybe he was emulating it. Maybe his constant World of Warcraft playing made him slightly removed from reality. Is it really that hard to fathom?

It's true. Wasn't Hitler addicted to Command & Conquer? Your theory makes sense.

Hitler didn't wake up one day and decide he hated jews. A number of influences led him to this as well as his perceptions of what he saw around him.

He's incredibly well read. Tragically unfortunate that a clearly intelligent individual could be manipulated towards wreaking such havoc.

In fairness though, in hindsight any interest can be made to look like an indicator and I'm sure people with varying interests can be brought to such destruction.

If he was really playing WOW then he wouldn't even have had time to get outside his house.:pac:
