Solved it:- Take on the guy with the good CV (hopefully good worker so) and take on the hot chick as an intern (hence not having to pay her, but getting the chance to get in there).Tell her its a trial period of a couple of weeks(that should be enough time to get chatting to her) and she'll probably get fed up working for free anyways and leave, but you've got your chance.Ta da.

Your cock heart says one thing, but your head speaks the truth. You just know that if you hire this young one, she'll be off with womens problems every other Monday and when someone inevitably puts her up the pole, your going to be left with your lad in your hand for 6 months of next year. You know it makes sense.

Hire them both. What odds is it to you like. You're not paying them. I'm getting three graduate English language students to help around the place.

Get them before Topaz snaps up all the free labour.

I recently decided to take on a graduate to work in the office. One of them is a lad.. seems capable enough, good CV, good references & some relevant experience.

The other is a hot young chick, no experience & her third level qualification is not as relevant to the job, but she's a serious bit of eye candy & has a smashing pair of knockers.

So all things considered, who would you employ?

Take on the lad. You'll only have to listen to her bang on about her boyfriend she didn't tell you about, and the next thing you know she'll be demanding sanitary towel boxes for the bathroom. Ya just don't need that shit buddy.

I'm having a lot of sexy office fantasies thanks to this thread. Are there pics of said knockers? Has no one asked for pics yet? Or that you 'GTFO'?

I'd hire the qualified one. Hiring the bimbo might end up costing you more than if you just solicited her off the clock yourself.

This is a made up dilemma for the sake of After Hours right? I like to think so. If someone in a managerial role in a business asks this in all seriousness the question shouldn't be which one are you going to hire but rather when are you going to be fired because clearly you shouldn't be in your job, capiche?

It's unfair to unload such opprobrium on the OP at a time when he's already dealing with the stress of making this crucial decision.

Yeah clearly he is very stressed by this very difficult decision  ... he's asking for it!

Perhaps he's just taken some time out to think about one of the candidates and perform some manual research, in order to ascertain that said candidates' credentials are as impressive as he remembers.

It's not a made up dilemma at all, though it may be slightly exaggerated.

Hardly the point though... I run my own business, so I'm free to hire whoever I like. But I'm sure that in the "business world", these "dilemmas" pop up all the time.

There's all sorts of laws & regulations regarding employing the most "suitable" candidate, but there's loads of times where the most suitable candidate is the hottest - regardless of their capabilities (or indeed their sex).

The "Oh, how could you even ask that question?" reaction by some posters is a tad naive, because when it comes down to it, if you get to the truth of the matter, an employee will employ whoever they want and for whatever reasons they want, regardless of whatever regulations or "norms" anyone else thinks should apply.

Tl:dr.. titties trumps willies / willy trumps titties (depending on your preference).

We are the cheeky girls... touch my bum.

They seemed like nice lassies. I wonder if they're job hunting atm....

Ok, employ the one with the 'titties' then but don't wonder when everything starts to turn to s**t. Experience counts for a lot in most peoples opinions. I guess you just have to ask yourself, what is more important to you the success of your business or eye candy?

I'm not sure - I'm going to go by the poll results.

Sometimes eye candy is good for business. He might own a branch of Hooters.

If I happen to be an employer partaking of the government's intern scheme then I say hire both of them, you're not footing the bill anyways. By the time the eye candy is trained up you throw Mr College Graduate out on his ear.

The bloke full time, the girl as an unpaid intern to gain work experience. Give her a 3/6 month internship.

Best of both worlds. He's got the skills you need for the role and you can see if the girl can develop the skills for the role. If not, she can do thankless admin for the time being and you have some eye-candy to look at.

Seeing as this is Ireland you may want to think up something intelligent when you are trying to be witty ;)

I say we start a new poll, who thinks you should be fired? Just for your poor attempt at controversy of course

He might own any place that employs women based on their appearance. Shops, restaurants, pubs.

God that just totally ruins the joke, doesn't it.

A welcome distraction nonetheless. Seems to have made all the lads that bit happier as well and even the girls thinks she's hot. Seriously though, morale has actually improved since she joined.
