I'd rather listen to Amanda Brunker trying to sing for three hours than set foot in a circus. They were probably entertaining 300 years ago, but that was before people knew what entertaining was.

Went to Fossetts last week, was very very good and no animals.....they have a couple of tiny little ponies that the kids can have a ride on in the interval but no performing animals.

The zoo makes me a bit sad too :(

And you seem to assume that all of this is ok with circus animals? How on earth do you excercise a rhinoceros or an elephant on the side of a road in central Dublin?

This elephant in a UK circus was probably being "well cared for" too

That elephant clearly wasn't being 'well cared for', and using that as an example to imply all circuses are bad is ridiculous.

You can't paint all Circuses with the one Brush!!!!!!!

They're clearly still entertaining to a lot of people, or they wouldn't still be so popular. As for people not knowing what entertaining was, have you seen some of the stuff that passes for entertainment these days? :pac:

Yes, I went to a circus once when I was a kid, and it bored me senseless.:P
