I say a mandatory 5 year, no chance of good behaviour etc, sentence for anyone who pulls a knife on someone else. Same for other items that can be used for harm - none of this bull**** about guys getting off multiple times and getting away with it.

Following on from that, we need to increase sentences for all serious crime and ensure that the white collar crime that has this country on its knees is fully eradicated.

I don't understand why people who aren't fans of certain artists go and see them. In my experience these are the ones that cause the trouble, because you can rest assured if a genuine fan pays the money to go along and see a band they love then they're most likely to be too concerned with enjoying themselves, rather than pissing and moaning and starting trouble.

Anyway I don't believe it's the music that's attracting the miscreants to festivals, it's the freedom and the temptation to cause total mayhem. You get a bunch of kids who don't know their own limits, throw in a massive amount of booze and drugs to binge on for four days and you get one of Ireland's infamous festivals. Oxegen in particular is less like a music festival these days and more like a teenage disco.

oxegen sold very little this year and word is it's very empty.

most of these scumbags sneak into the campsite where security is lax. organisers seem to give up on the campsite and just secure the music area. at last EP i heard some skanger boasting how he snuck in (snuck, is that a word?) with nothing and robbed a tent, sleeping bag, cigarettes and beer for the weekend.

funny story. I went to see neil young a few years back, got to the gig, got in the pit up front, and the frames were supporting. Didn't know they were supporting till i done seen em on stage. anyway, i was trying to call my friend who likes the frames so she could hear, and i remember trying to tell i didn't really like the frames. with the noise, she couldn't hear me, so i had to shout down the phone: "I DON'T REALLY LIKE THE FRAAAMMES!" just as the band dropped out for a quiet middle eight or something. the whole pit turns around staring at me, filthy confused looks, the frames turn and look at me with pure hatred like i'm some prick heckler.. half expected to get jumped.

anyway i just said "f*ck you people i'm here for neil young" and went back to my conversation.

I pretty much agree with this. The amount of scum at AC/DC in Punchestown a few years ago was stunning. Feckers only knew about three songs because they are played by every covers band in the country. There was one eejit a few heads away from me who'd go mental at the start of each song screaming "Highway To Hell! C'mon!!" then relax a bit when he copped that it wasn't that song.
