Does anybody else (who is in employment) ever get sick of hearing "ohhh, aren't you sooooo lucky to have a job"??

No matter what the job is, no matter how much you hate it, no matter how much you want to pack it in!!

But of course you cant pack it in because there is no other jobs and what kind of a fool leaves there job at the moment when they are so "lucky" to be there in the first place!!

Not every job is WORTH HAVING  scream!!!

I don't even get paid for my job, if I ever heard a superior say that to me, they wouldn't be long without having my notice in their hand.

But.....you are lucky to have a job

I know that I am in a much better position, i.e. I have an income and can support myself...however if getting this income makes me dread getting up in the morning, then I question its worth. Sorry to sound like I am not fortunate, I am, for the income. Not to be in employment!

No job is worth damaging your health. If it's stressing you out then you should consider packing it in, if you can afford it that is.

Hate when people say you are lucky to have a job, what about all those people who are good at their jobs and get on great in work who are highly qualified in their role?

being "lucky" to have your job implies to me you somehow duped employer to hire you and then managed to con him into thinking you were good at it and so you haven't been let go yet or something.

You're lucky to have a job is usually preceded by "I need you to work til 8pm all this week for no extra pay and in fact, you are getting a paycut".

I agree!! I'm sick of hearing this!

Yea ok I suppose in the current climate we're lucky...but what if you're stuck in a job that you cant get out of!! I have sent out hundreds of CV's and I'm lucky to get an e-mail reply...most of them dont even bother replying. Its so disheartening.

I have my qualifications and worked really hard for my degree. Most of the people I went to college with have emigrated, I dont really want to do that...I'm a home bird. Now I'm stuck in a part time crappy job and i'm dying to get out of it!!! :(

To be honest, if my job was as a bag of tea I'd probably be pretty stressed out over it as well.

Same here!! My employers dont realise how much I do off my own back. They'll miss me when I'm gone...which will be very soon I hope!

I know! I feel guilty when I walk past the dole queue on a Wednesday on my way to work! I feel like I shouldn't feel bad that I'm 'lucky' to have a job, especially in the current climate, but like. Stop with the emotional blackmail!!

It's horrible to be in a job you don't like but imo it's only worse when you have no job at all to get up for, while sending out tons of CVs and still getting no replies.

got my marching orders last week :(

wish I could say I was lucky to have a job! (well technically I do still have the job as I'm working out 2 months notice, but you get my drift...)

Just got offered a new job today, I haven't done a thing in about 10 months and can't wait to get back to work again, and I do feel lucky to be getting back to work.

Its not some people are lucky to have jobs IMO its that a lot of decent hard working people are unlucky to be out of work through no fault of their own.

Today I went for a run, spent the morning out playing in the sun with my dog, went shopping and bought a lovely fresh salad for lunch and a new pair of shoes (paid for my government), had a snooze, and now I'm going to spent the evening relaxing with friends, watching films and maybe get a takeaway in my house whos rent is paid for by the government...
    Might do the same tomorrow...

    Frankly I think I'm luckier without a job :D
