Think I will buy a new battery. They're on ebay for around 7e-9e. Might even wipe it and install ROM again.

Have you examined battery use in Settings and Spare Parts?

If I use the 'No frills CPU' that comes with Swedish Spring and set the CPU clock speed to min 122MHz and max 320MHz will this help save battery? What implications does that have on the phone?
    Make your phone laagggg
No other way of putting it. That's why I only use those as my min and max when the screen is off, otherwise I'm overclocking at 691MHz for my max and using 320MHz as my minimum. I use lower settings when the screen's off, because it makes sense to use as little resources as possible when it's idle, and to save as much battery life as possible. You need 'SetCPU' for this feature (there may be other apps, but 'No Frills CPU' unfortunately isn't one of them).

I have this a few weeks now. Still love it, really good phone. The battery is ok but on WIFI it is simply diabolical sorry. I can charge it to 100% at night before bed and surf for awhile. It will loss 40% no bother within 20 minutes!!

Anyone else experience this type of battery drain on wifi?

If the battery wasn't this bad it would be the perfect phone, but tbh I had thoughts of throwing it on adverts since getting it because of the battery but I really don't want to :)

Hi, I'm having the same trouble .I have been losing 40 percent while I sleep even with airplane mode on.I've tried the app Set Cpu but it hasn't made the radical difference I'd hoped for.I found manually setting No Frills Cpu to 245 max and 122 min and switching to"power save"governor when I'm not using the phone has worked most effectively. Its annoying having to turn the settings back up and to "on demand "when Iwant to use it though.

Yesterday I tried a tip for recalibrating the battery that people on modaco seem to be finding great. It's here

    http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blade-blade-modaco-com/323487/battery-recalibration-protip/

The last two steps are more clearly explained in a post further down the first page of the thread. It hasn't helped me as much as some but it's worth a try.Report back if it helps and I'll try it again myself if it does.

Apologies if this has been asked before but I couldn't find it on the thread. Just wondering can all back up programs restore files backed up from a a gen 1 to a gen 2? or what program should I use to back up?

Oh thats fantastic! I'll try it again myself so, just in case. I found my battery marginally improved but nothing major. However most people found it really helped by the looks of things.

    @_Whimsical_

Charged since 11pm last night and did about 45mins surfing last night. Had a few calls today and a good few texts. Also some surfing. Still at 48%. :D

Have you done it yet yourself?

Wow that is good going! I haven't gotten time to do it yet but I will try it again at the weekend and report back. :)

In the meantime I've turned off background data (settings>accounts and sync) and it seems to have improved my battery life a lot. For example I've gone from losing 40% charge overnight while the phone was on airplane mode and idle to losing just 1% last night in the time that I slept. I also had it clocked on powersave gov at 245max.

It's not ideal really in that some apps wont work while it's off but it's fine to do while you sleep or while you're not using wifi as far as I can see. It seems to effect apps that rely on refresh like the news app, tv guide app, and gmail, although it lets you refresh that manually if you want. It's fine to leave it off for browsing. It's worth a try for anyone with major battery drain anyway. :)

Looks good alright. Might give it a go seeing I use Launcher Pro anyway

Just put it on now. If you don't do a wipe you have everything like before except you have to add your widgets again.

I really like it, the animations are really nice. Feels alot zippier too.

Holy sh1t. I had to have a go of it too, and so far it's looking sweet! The aesthetics alone are a seller!

I must say I'm really liking it. The animations are so quick and the theme is sweet. I'm sold anyway :-)

Its noticably faster with Portugese, you'll feel a difference instantly. First boot took ages, but after the second boot was normal

Yeah that frightened me a bit :-)
Thanks for the heads up PogMoThoin

The tweening animations are awesome. Looked at the guy's profile on MoDaCo though, he's 17. Not to be TOO ageist, but I hope he didn't royally fu*k up only for us to regret this move later. :P

Most of the best tech heads are young. I've a Galaxy S myself, Darkys rom is the software I use on that, the guy is 18. GeoHot is 21, he jailbroke the iphone in 2008 and then cracked the PS3 encryption last year and got taken to court by Sony, hence the hactivists are flat out attacking Sony.

I smell cheap labor and development "sweatshops" for exploitation opportunities. :P

His Twitter says he's 17. Still though, CM is going to be good, one day. It's not quite there, yet!

He was 16 in March anyway :p

CM is good, just a few Bluetooth bugs ATM, concensus is that its near as stable as SS
I've been using it nigh on four months, and it has progressed SO MUCH.
    Jacob and TomG are heroes

I really cannot wait for it. I don't want to try it again until 7.1 is released though. My last try was 7.0. Is 7.0.3 doing much better?

Just threw on Portuguese Spring B3 there coming from Swedish Spring RlS4. The theme and animations are awesome. So so quick aswell. Loving the power control widget in the notification bar. I would definitely recommend this ROM from anyone still on Swedish.

The Chinese Portuguese, great bunch of lads! :D

I think it's based on RLS5, the latest Swedish Spring. The Power widget is brilliant and the Gingerbread power control in the notifications area is a sweet addition too!

There's a button for 3G too. Just turn it off and it won't come on automatically. What ROM are you using though?
