English police are investigating Britians Got Talent at the request of the makers.

Cowell calls in police over 'Britain's Got Talent' fix claim

LONDON — Pop mogul Simon Cowell has called in police over Internet allegations that his firm groomed a contestant on "Britain's Got Talent" and that the popular TV show is therefore fixed, police said Friday.

Cowell's lawyers made the complaint to officers after an anonymous blogger alleged that Ronan Parke, the 12-year-old favourite to win Saturday's final, had been secretly advised by his company for two years.

The blogger claimed Parke already has a management deal with Cowell's company Syco and had received guidance on his hairstyle, clothing and mannerisms.

London police have yet to decide if they will take action over the complaint.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "An allegation of malicious communications was made to Kensington and Chelsea police on Thursday June 2.

"The allegation is being considered."

The schoolboy, who bears a passing resemblance to teenage heartthrob singer Justin Bieber, won the viewers' vote on Monday, putting him straight through to the Saturday show.

Syco and Sony Music said they would take legal action to "prevent further publication of these unfounded allegations".

Syco said in a statement: "There has been speculation on the Internet that Britain's Got Talent finalist Ronan Parke was known to and worked with Syco/Sony Music before entering the show. There is no truth in this story whatsoever.

"Ronan first came to Syco/Sony's attention when he entered this year's competition."

Parke's mother Maggie also dismissed claims that he was auditioned by talent scouts after being spotted performing at a birthday party for a friend of his parents.

"It's laughable, to be perfectly honest with you, and it couldn't be further from the truth," she told BBC radio."There's no foundation in it whatsoever."

Cowell has endured a turbulent few weeks after British pop star Cheryl Cole was dropped from the judging panel of the US version of another of his shows, "The X Factor", reportedly because American audiences could not understand her accent.

I personally think, there is something to be investigated given the funny goings on last year of previous shows associated and run by Cowell.
Last years X-Factor alone, was a disgrace in regards manipulating people, phone voters and the media.

Once agan we see police actions due to a blogger or someone speaking out in the meanwhile, across the net.
Is the use of the net now yet again from another direction, being tried to be silenced or abilities curtailed?

It's very obviously fixed...much like the x-factor. They give themselves away by the ludicrous decisions that are made. One that stands out is calling back that britney impersonator. I cringe when I see cowell saying things like....I don't know why they put you through...when it's so obvious that he's pulling all the strings.

I'd love to know what kind of gag orders these judges must sign before they work with cowell. Probably something along the lines of "I agree that if I blow the whistle on the behind the scenes skullduggery all my earnings will be paid back in full and I will also be liable to massive legal proceedings".

It stinks and I really hope it all comes out soon.

Oh and watch out for cowell probably voting against this ronan person soon, but making sure that the other judges have him safely booked in (or some other way that he knows his vote and opinion will be meaningless). What a detestful specimen of a man.

And...just like in life...it's always the people who treat you like **** that you try and impress the most.

Syco claims that the blog breaks the English legal rules of Section one of (1) (iii) Malicious Communications Act 1988 - in that what the insider has stated in false and thus just malicious in nature.
That they hold 'no water'.

Personally I suspect, they are trying to now do some damage limitation and shut the person speaking, up for good.
If Simon/Syco is totally innocent, they have the right to defend themselves in a courtroom.
As with the Giggs case, once again the internet is being used as a method of spreading either true or false allegations - and somehow the English are trying to find ways to cope with this.

Normally I would have posted it there but as the underlying situation is that the internet once again is being used to voice alternative views, etc... the matter goes beyond just the show itself and further reaches back for example to freedom of expression, the Giggs case and other matters.

The police called in is just another action brought about by an internet user - and this I suspect is now going to become more common.

There is no such thing as bad publicity. I wonder how many more people will tune in to watch that small kid they read about in the paper!

I'm sure they will - he is a master of manipulation when it comes to creating publicity, etc.

In the meantime the original blog that tried to state what it did has been closed down. This I'm guessing, was able to be done quickly for it was once emanating from English servers rather than foreign ones - like Twitter for example.

Britain's got special needs talent a fix? No way. Really? Like the x factor and all that similar shíte it's a bad soap opera with autotune and glitter and bad acting, with a side order of often mentalist members of the public. Lorded over by Cowell, the Jeremy Kyle of pop. It works though. The mob lap this crap up. Cicero said of the mob that it was unpredictable. Far be it from me to disagree with the chap, but I do. The mob is very predictable. Predictably thick and tasteless.

It should have been obvious last year when Cowell undermined his repeatedly-stated stance on the twits.

This is my main objection to so-called "reality" TV.

However if I were a court judge I'd throw out the case pointing out that anyone who's not an idiot knows that "reality" TV isn't "real"

Original source of the article seems pretty suspect. I reckon Syco called in the police because they know that these specific allegations are not true and they can prove it. That would make it alot easier to dismiss any future accusations of fixing that might be true

With the amount of money poured in by the public via voting into these show there should be some sort of independent verification that the public gets what it has paid for.

As for this type of reality tv, the bubble will burst just like the big brother one did. Simon Cowell wont worry about that tho as he rakes in £100's millions a year in the mean time.
