Preferred her earlier stuff - when she was Lady BaBa.

Musically it's all been done before by Madonna

Safe tired and boring chord progressions, dull beats, boring lyrics and fake shock.

    Fart.....not into it.

She's an empty suit and and a thief.

Here's an article written about her by noted femenist Camille Paglia who seems to hate her even more then I do, she calls her 'the death of sex'.

She is a talented person , but her persona as lady gaga is a bit too weird for me , She decided to ditch talent in favour of catchy manufactured hits, do crazy things with hair and wair rediculous outfits , but people take notice, just look at any council estate or dole queue - full of uneducated women emulating her hairstyle.

Personally I have nothing positive to say about her music or the persona but her ability to make money out of people with no taste is excellent

I'd like to have seen a video of her when she fell off the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. The tree must have been so tall, and the branches so many, that the descent must have taken at least 6 hours.

*deep breaths* I am not a violent person, in fact a total pacifist BUT when I hear even a bar of her awful "music" I want to punch her face to a bloody pulp. So where's the "hope she dies screaming " option in the poll? Ditto for Mika, celine sion, shania twain and katy Perry. All scourges on our society.

I like her. I don't think she's the greatest thing to ever happen to music or anything but she's certainly among the best pop acts around these days. She can sing, she can throw a great live show and she's written songs for other artists too AFAIK, as well as her own....she's definitely talented. She's certainly lightyears ahead of the likes of Justin Bieber or Katy Perry or anything from High School Musical in terms of actual descernible talent.

And yes, I did buy the new album. AND I REGRET NOTHING! :pac:

Just another pop-gimmick-con to squeeze money out of the spotty masses.

As an old punk I like the shock stuff she does such as the meat dress and after seeing her on Graham Nortons show she is quite witty and a good interview but her music is fairly pedestrian 80 gay club disco bland blah!!!

As an old punk, youy must've seen the cover of The Undertones "ALl Wrapped Up" best of all album brought out yonks ago.....

Meaty dresses me hole....she's a big copy cat. Nothing at all original or shocking about her. Some of her songs are catchy though, damn her!

The vast majority of imagery in pop right now is copied, just look at all the artists and music video directors being sued by assorted photographers and artists for ripping of their work.

Shes a joke. On Jonathan Ross a couple of years ago she did a good impression of a plank. He had to drag conversation out of her while she held a little teacup and looked mysterious! She was rightly panned for that and these days on chat shows she makes a passable attempt at being normal.
Her music is drivel and her stage shows are like some drug fuelled nightmare. The fact shes bigger than god makes me sad for humanity.

Going to be straight up and say I absolutely adore Lady Gaga.

I couldn't stand her at first, always liked the catchy songs (even though European industrial metal is my main love) but thought she was a complete plank. I'm not too sure what interview it was that I saw her in but she just sucked me in.

I am on her main fan forum (not the official one, that's a joke) and to be honest a lot on there see through her. There are, admittedly, a lot of teenage fans sucked into her whole love yourself no matter what thing she goes on with, but in the main, a lot of her hardcore fans like myself love her for her music, her live performances, and because she is a big of craic.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. She wears some odd clothes, and to be honest the fans don't talk about the clothes anymore, its hardly a topic anymore. It seems to be only a talking point for non-fans now to throw something at her. The whole meat dress thing was pure silly but more than anything she wants attention and if people keep giving it to her, well its hardly her fault.

I can see why people wouldn't like her with the overkill of coverage, but ya know, turn off the tv, switch the radio signal etc.,

As for the RedOne comment, he had little to do with the new album. Fernando Garibay and DJ White Shadow had far more input.

Anyway, I love her. In a world of moaners, and utter mind-numbing boredom, she's a bit of craic, and her concerts are amazing. Sure, a bit on the high side price wise but she doesn't set the prices, the promoters do. The price for her gig was the same as for Justin Bieber.

The persona is very pretentious, but the woman has loads of talent. She's a pretty genuine musician, which is unusual in pop music and something that is needed.

Her first album-and-a-half was/were good, but the new one . .well they all sound like ''bad romance'' mixed up over and over again . . .

Hence the new album being crap. (he's still featured on 4 tracks...anyway replace that statement about RedOne with those other two and problem solved :pac:)

    Crap to you ;)

I really enjoy it. It's different from what she has done so far, but that's no bad thing. Sure if you don't like it just don't listen to it which I'm sure you won't.

Apparently it has set some new record for units moved in the opening week, whether its good or bad, or you like her or not, you got to give it to her and her team, they know how to sell.

Anyway, Stephen Fry likes her, it makes every other opinion invalid :P

Didn't she sell it for 99c on amazon for two days last week? Definitely would of helped with the sales.

I don't love her or loathe her but I did have a lot more time for her when she first came out. I quite liked her first few songs. Not that I'd go out and buy her album or anything but they were good for dancing to in clubs and that...
And when she first came out (2008? 2009?) she was a bit kooky, a bit different but she wasn't totally over-the-top crazy like she is now. It just smacks of desperation and style over substance.

I think the meat-dress was her jump the shark moment, when she didn't really have anything to say except "Look at me! I'm nuts!". I think she wanted to make some statement but the only statement that she made with that was "I'm a massive attention-seeker".

Still marginally more talented than most of the dross in the charts these days anyway.

I agree with you, OP. I liked her music, more so at the start though in saying that, I like the single "Born This Way" but i find it hard to like the person behind the music.

Don't get me wrong, I respect how she will stand up for what she believes in, such as the gay rights for the men and women in the American army. I think that is respectable. But I don't like how she uses her image too much. The media make her into a goddess. Everything she does is news worthy!

I think it's crazy. Her music is good but the new single suggests she can bring anything out and it's a hit! (Sorry but I think it's just...Eww!!)

There's the obsession about her with social media as well. She is a huge sensation on both Twitter and Facebook.

Her fashion grasps the imagination of people with any head of fashion. She is unique, her fashion is unique. She is always reinventing herself in orderto keep the attention of her followers.

Everything about Lady Ga Ga is unique. She is MASSIVE. she's the first person to utilise the use of social networks in order to spread her word, it's the reason she is the most influential person in America. She has a unique look. She has values and stands by them. Lady Ga Ga grabs the attention of everyone through so many reasons, including her music. She's a "gay icon" and she does push boundaries. She seems to appeal to everyone from all walks of life.

However, I don't like her. It probably is the fact that everywhere you look or everything you listen to, she's there. I think at this stage, we're verging on a GaGa overdose...

I couldn't care less, but having said that, I'd still like to f***k her, just to say I did.

    Why?

I was joking, hence the :P at the end.

Yeah, it crashed on the first day and so was done for a second day, but it was amazon's decision apparently in an attempt to get more customers for some service they have running.

The real test will be in how much full price copies she actually sells, the standard edition was only available for 99c and that's in the US only. I dunno, but wouldn't you want to be at least curious to download the album for 99c? If Katy Perry was paying me 99c to download her album I wouldn't.

I can't say objectively because I am a big fan, but even if I didn't like her I think I'd still have to respect her somewhat for being able to sell so many albums and singles in a time when you can download an album for nothing on many of the illegal sites.

And just a question I'd like to throw out there, is she creating so much hype and news about her kooky clothes surrounding "Lady Gaga" to keep attention away from her private life? I mean, I'm a massive fan, and not that I really care, but I don't know a load about her or her family. She seems to be well able to hide from the media when she wants to.
