The side with the crack is the bottom.
    Case closed.

    Unbelievable!

The Chocolate side is the BOTTOM.

Take a digestive biscuit (ah go on, ya will) for example, if you were MAKING your own chocolate biscuit, you would smear chocolate all over the BOTTOM of it. That then does not become the TOP, just because it has chocolate on it does it? No, of course not, as it is still the BOTTOM of the biscuit.

So, the answer is .. the bottom side is the side with the chocolate. People are confusing the action of putting something on top of something, with the actual side of the biscuit. Just because you put the chocolate on top of the biscuit, does not make the side you put it on .. the top.

Oh Petey, Petey, Petey, whatever will we do with you. When I make biscuits, I put the chocolate on the top. The TOPPING goes on the TOP. Would you buy Jaffa Cakes and claim the chocolate covered orangey bit to be the bottom? Eh? C'mon now, tell the truth.

They should have mobius biscuits to end this sort of confusion.

Same with Mikado. The pink stuff and the jam is obviously the top, and that's how they are stack in the packet, the topping facing the top, but compared to the biscuit at the bottom of the mikado, the pink stuff is on the bottom side of the biscuit. The addition of toppings reverses the order of the biscuit base, so when you take it as a whole the topping is the top, just like the chocolate side is on the bottom side of the digestive, but the addition of the chocolate cases a side-reversal on the biccie. Simple.

But why should the addition of chocolate reverse the top and bottom of the biscuit??

Because chocolate > biscuit. Simple as.

Look.it depends where one is in relation to said biscuit based nibble.

If you are in Ireland and the biscquat is in Australia then the choc bit would be on the down side respective to your upright position.

Where is that philisophisising genius Aristotle when you need him?

Cancel that request..I caught myself on there. He'd be asking "is a digestive reeeealllly digestible?

    Yes.

The top of a biscuit is the ALWAYS the part with name ingrained.

Take a Custard Cream (ah go on, ya will) for example, are you trying to tell me that the two parts of that biscuit that are stuck to the creams are the tops?? :p

    That's silly talk.

Choc digestives are named on the biscuit side.

I think you are trying to derail the thread with inside/upside down confusion.

I'm getting on to Joe Duffy about you  Go waaaay, is tha' right, yeh yeh yeh yeh, it bloody well is!! Chocolate is on the top!!! Just like the fluffy gunk and jam side is the top of a Mikado.

Just a tad less bored and sad than it has to be to reply to it. I am sure you can remember when you went through that stage :pac:

I thanked your post cause you made me giggle *pinches cheeks*

Now .. I'm sorry to tell you, but you are incorrect.

Again, you are confusing the act of putting something on-top of something and that then being referred to as the top, they are two different things entirely.

The fluffy pink stuff you refer to, is put "on-top" of the biscuit, but not on THE top of the biscuit. The Logo is on the TOP of the biscuit, the fluffy stuff goes on the bottom.

Why would a biscuit company put their LOGO on the BOTTOM of a biscuit, wouldn't make sense, they put it on TOP where people can see it.

Then they package them with the logo on the bottom, facing down, where no one can see it unless you turn the biscuit upside down to eat it.

    Exhibit A

Notice how you can't see the logo printed on the underide of the biscuity base..
