Which side of a chocolate biscuit is the bottom

This is food related post but not really high-brow enough for Food and Drink I think.

Someone please resolve an argument the OH and I are having. I'm eating a chocolate digestive and I reckon the chocolate side is the bottom, while she maintains that it's the top.

What do people reckon?? Don't reply unless you agree with my opinion though, as I'm right!!:D

Your poor OH having to put up with you. You can't contaminate the chocolate with the table germs if its the bottom! Which would you rather take a bullet for, the delicious chocolate or cold, crumbly biscuit?

Would recommend counselling immediately,this is a very serious issue!

The OP may have a point as most of the flavour comes from the chocolate,so would it not make sense to have this area in contact with the most taste buds as soon as possible?

But why should the addition of chocolate reverse the top and bottom of the biscuit??

With a regular digestive sans chocolate the writing is on the top. Why should the addition of chocolate change this? Also when you buy a tin of biscuit at xmas all the biscuits with one side coated in chocolate always have the chocolate side facing down!!

That may or may not be true.:) Go to youtube and look up a Chocolate Enrober. This will give you an indication as to how the process works. I suspect the digestives are semi enrobed, as in the bottom half. I'm guessing the chocolate curtain is disabled for digestives and they "wade" through a thin layer of chocolate and are somehow flipped over when they reach the end of the enrober net. This would explain the square texture on the chocolate.

So now that i have given my technical aspect to the thing let me add that the chocolate side is up on the finished biccie but when it was made it was down, at least during enrobing anyway.:pac:
