What age did you start drinking?

Got smashed at 13 on a bottle of sparkling wine. Been drinking since*.

Tasting drinks at 13 and having sessions most weekends by 15. Both my parents were pioneers and would have killed me if they saw me with a drink in my hands. I just learnt to hide it and lie about where I was and who I was with.

16 and a bit, my parents let me,.. same with my mates so we all just go to each others houses drinkin then into town and sometimes the pubs!

Say I started getting regularly pissed around 16 when first started getting served in pubs and off licenses. First pub I ever got served a pint in was The White Horse, now called The Dark Horse. That place was crazy in the early 90's. There use to be queue along the side every Friday and Saturday night of nothing but 14 to 17 year olds. Another place was Bartley Dunnes (now Break for The Border) disgraceful goings on in there.

When I was 16, six of us "downed" roughly two inches of vodka mixed with 7up before the Harriers disco (anyone here remember that?!).

Spent all night running around telling everyone "We're LOCKED!!"

First time I got drunk was when I was about 15, on a karate club trip to Jersey. Spent my last few Jersey pounds the night before going home on Smirnoff Ice.

My parents let us have wine with dinner as kids (watered down) so never was that interested in drink. Bought a bottle of bud on the night I got my Leaving Cert results took 2 mouthfuls and left it there thought it was disgusting!

it wasnt til I was 20 that I properly started to drink. Tia Maria and Coke being my first drink. Then Malibu & Orange.....now its anything but gin really!

15, outside the pub i worked in at the end of the night. One can of Bulmers and a bottle of Woodys. Damn it was cheap to get drunk then

Old enough by Irish standards. 19/20 I'd say. I mean I'd have the odd drink every now and then since I was about 16, but nothing major. Was never much of a drinker.

But I was taking drugs since I was 15ish...sonever had an interest in alcohol.

Myself around 15ish but only in the house couldn't get served anywhere and i'd be petrified they'd tell my parents i was drinking haha
my uncle started when he was 35 :eek: think it was his new woman that drove him to it

Started at 13-14 with mates robbing a couple of bottles out of their gaff and we would get together down a lane and share it. Then about 15-16 we got people to buy booze for me and my mates and we never looked back

First time I got drunk was on Halloween when I was 14 drinking concoctions of stuff. Was hanging out with older people and they got me locked, walked me home and left me two doors away from my house because they were afraid my mam would see who I was drinking with. Stumbled home, up the stairs and fell asleep without anybody noticing. Threw up and mam thought it was cuz I ate too many sweets

After that I drank fairly regularly at sessions from 14-16, then stopped til I was 18 and could go out properly!

And that was the disco, I do indeed remember it well... what a kip! All the same its strange that its gone.
