    http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/may/13/iran-blind-criminal-acid
In a literal application of the sharia law of an eye for an eye, Iran is ready for the first time to blind a man with acid, after he was found guilty of doing the same to a woman who refused to marry him.
Majid Movahedi, 30, is scheduled to be rendered unconscious in Tehran's judiciary hospital at noon on Saturday while Ameneh Bahrami, his victim, drops acid in both his eyes, her lawyer said.
Bahrami who had asked for an eye for an eye retribution in the court, was disfigured and blinded by Movahedi in 2004 when he threw a jar of acid in her face while she was returning home from work. "He was holding a red container in his hand. He looked into my eyes for a second and threw the contents of the red container into my face," she told the court in 2008.

Remember reading about it at the time and thinking it was a great move.. Finally happening this Saturday. :) I know I'd want the same revenge if it happened me.. The only thing that would keep me going is knowing he was in the same position.

I don't agree with the whole eye for an eye thing but the acid attacks on women in that end of the world is sickening. This is Pakistan not Iran (pretty disturbing images, you've been warned)

To quote some Indian guy (mortal enemy of the cowboy)

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."

How are they going to get home after this little event? Will it be the blind leading the blind?

I've a hard time feeling compassion or pity for anyone in that situation. I won't be losing much sleep over the fact that some evil bastard is going to lose an eye. As far as the quote " an eye for an eye makes the whole world bling" , I don't agree, it just makes the people who do evil, dispicable things blind.

Any of the bleeding heart liberals who oppose this should look at the photos. Once word gets out that if you burn someone the same thing will happen to you if might help.

It seems to be a great practice in theory and maybe even justified but cutting of another persons limbs or gouging out an eye is not what human beings should be doing to one another,Thats all about getting revenge but where does the revenge end, If a family memeber of mine was mutilated for what ever reason and I seen the other person on the street that caused it, It wouldent be saying hello I be saying to him/her. So where does the revenge end ?

The point is that all the evil people of the world blind all the good people. When the good people blind them back, everybody's blind!

This will never go ahead, they are just going to find some technicality to get out of it.

Yeah my first thought was that they were going to get her to chuck the acid over him when he was conscious, but this all sounds a bit too civilised. She wasn't given the opportunity to be unconscious when the incident happened so why should he.
