Is it possible to sync Cabbage android with Cabbage PC, so that texts sent from my pc show up as sent on my htc?
    That would be sweet!
And allow cabbage access my phonebook?
    Thanks!

Not right now but it's something I've been considering

    Great great app :)

The last couple of days however my messages haven't been sending. The following message comes up...

'Invalid response received (tried to parse a page and couldn't find expected text)'

    Any ideas?

Could you test something for me? Schedule a message for March 30th at 8PM and see what response you get back. Thanks

Have installed but haven't used yet. I've free texts this month so no need. Great app idea though. Thanks dev.

Won't install on my Archos 70 (hacked for android market) - says not compatible with device. Won't even find it with a search and won't install with a direct download link.

    textdroid loaded though...

    any reason for this?

Locked myself out of my Vodafone account twice with complex passwords, uppercase, lowercase, numbers.. had to wait a day before trying Cabbage again with a new password, all lower case.

    All lower case worked.

Any known issues or just a blip at my end?

I had sent a text file to the phone with the password, copy & paste of the first mixed case password. No luck. Verification failed each time, which then caused the lock outs..

EDIT: Just to add, on the Samsung Europa, the next button and the done button, beside the text entry boxes, do not work, to 'back out' of the text box to view or send, you have to use the hardware back button.

Did you try to download it from my website or the Android market? The one on my website is java mobile for non-android phones. To get the android version you have to search on the market

There are no known issues with non-alphanumeric characters or capital letters. Must have just been a blip.

The app was never designed to work with the next or done buttons. I'm not surprised the next doesn't work but I would have thought the done button would. I'll look into it

The market directly from the device market application. Then went to the android market website and tried there - again it asks "choose which device you want to install" - but when you try to select the archos it says "this is not compatible with your device"... then tried a direct email link http://www.androidzoom.com/w/search/qrLink?appCode=famt&dwnId=28234419 and opened the link on my email on the device - also failed...so 3 different avenue's at getting the same program failed.

must be an archos problem (it doesn't come officially with android market but it's own appstore - you have to do a hack to get the proper android market)

    thanks.

Hi, I don't think I can help there I'm afraid, I don't know anything about Archos. The app is a native Android app and should be compatible with any android phone with v1.5 and above so it must be something to do with Archos' different implementation of it. Do you have any problems with other apps?

I have a new version just about ready for release but I'd like a few people to test it out for me before I release it. If anyone wants to try out the new one drop me a PM and I'll give you a link. Thanks

The main update is that it works just like a regular SMS app. When a message is received you get a notification in the notification bar (which you can disable) and when you open the app you're brought to an inbox and can view message threads etc complete with contact photos. You can disable the inbox too and go back to just using the compose message screen if you want. You will get two notifications of messages, one from cabbage and one from your default app, but you can disable notifications in both apps. I've disabled notifications for the default app but you could equally disable Cabbage notifications and just open it to reply.

    The other noticeable updates are:
    1. The progress dialog doesn't come up while sending a message anymore. It sends in the background and you can keep using the app and sending messages.
    2. You can pick the sound to play when a message arrives from any sound file on the phone.
    3. Multiple bug fixes
    4. Move to SD card

Complete newb question, just downloaded Android cabbage for the first time.
Can Cabbage make use of my phone contacts? Or do I have to reenter them manually into Cabbage itself?

    This post has been deleted.

    Haha, that did it.
Being an idiot I only typed one letter and expected it to display the list, it needs 2 letters.

I used to love Cabbage on Windows, so delighted to have it on my Android.

works perfect - just wondering is there any reason the text is bold in the message conversation screen? it would be better normal I feel.

    Good work! :D

Hi ryderster & Sam Vimes. Long time user, first time caller... I've been using Cabbage for what seems like years on my Meteor Hero.

I've recently moved to the Middle-East and am using a Desire S. I'm trying to connect to eMobile over WiFi. My password is working fine via my PC's web browser, but using the Cabbage app over WiFi & upon verification I get:
    Verifying account...
    for ages, then:
IO Exception. Do you have coverage and its data enabled?

Any thoughts? I don't have a data plan here (yet). Thanks.

Turns out that it works fine on my home WiFi, but not on the WiFi in work :c

Did a search on the thread (not comprehensive by any means) and didn't find this issue.

    Android 2.2
    HTC Wildfire
    Irish Cabbage Lite 1.2

When I schedule a text the date auto completes with the correct day, a large number for the month and the correct year. i.e. 5 41 2011.
If I schedule this and then check the sent messages I'll see a message scheduled for 2014 sometime, as in 41 months past todays date.

Also a quick question, if you delete a scheduled message from your sent messages does it just remove it from the sent messages view or send a request to delete the job on the server?

Cheers and keep up the good work!
    R.

The 41 problem is a fault that will be fixed in the next release. It's supposed to be calculating 4+1=5 to get may (the 5th month) but instead it's just putting the 1 after the 4 to get 41. For the month of may just change it to 5 and will work

Deleting a scheduled message on the app has no effect on the server, the message will still send. If you want to cancel a scheduled message you can use the desktop app or email me

Hi there I am having similar probs to others in that when I try to text I am getting the response - Invalid response received (tried to parse a page and couldnt find expected text) - I just downloaded cabbage yesterday and havent managed to get it to work yet. I Double checked the username and Pin on meteor site and I can send a web text on the site no prob. I have the correct pw and pin saved in cabbage. any advice on a fix would be appreciated.

Thanks I'll look into that. A quick google suggests it's a bit random, with people saying they updated their firmware and apps that used to work started giving that error and the error going away after a few days etc. I'll see what I can do anyway
