You destroyed my universe son and now I am going to destroy yours

Does this relate to the fact that one universe has already been destroyed or is it just hyperbole on the already decaying one ? Basically at the end of this weeks episode Peter isn't taken into the future in the blue or red universe but another one already destroyed. I have to watch it again but have seen it mentioned that the towers in the clip at the end don't correspond with the blue or red universes

Perhaps it's the yellow universe that was rumoured a while back.

Edit: Oh, I see you are already aware of this possibility.

I still see no evidence for a third universe. What would be the point anyway? It wouldn't really evolve the story in any way. I think what we're seeing in this preview is just the future of our universe in which the other universe has been destroyed. Although our universe is obviously none the better for this. So destroying one or other universe isn't the solution, both need to be saved. I'm assuming time travel will be the focus of next season. Peter's strange behaviour after waking up suggests the possibility of alternate timelines.

Film style promo for the finale, 2 mins long.

Pretty excited now. Will try to avoid any more news before the weekend.

What was the quick voice snippet at the end of the video, did anyone catch it?

Looks like it's going to be a pretty great finale.

If you mean the towers at the end of Ep21 (I haven't seen Ep22 promo yet so you might mean something new in that?), I believe it's the tower that is planned to be built at ground zero to replace the WTC twin towers, hence the plaque commemerating 9/11.

    WTF?
I don't think time travel is involved here (yet ;) )

Peter's hair line is receding and turnung slightly grey:

Also, I don't think Peter's waking up of sorts has anything to do with him going into the machine, it was just a smash cut to the aftermath of using the machine in the first place. Too many theories to write about.
You should see the talk over on the FringeTelevision forum. :D

Freedom Tower, currently being built on the site of the old WTC towers.

Is it only a 3 months wait? That's less than some "breaks" some seasons take in-between a running season. 3 months seems so short :o

Although if Peter never existed, the baby never happened. But then Peter was the only one who could use the machine and was the only one who could choose which universe....and on and on.... so many questions

    Great :D

Pretty crap finale tbh. I was expecting great things and it seemed it was 80% filler and 20% actually dealing with the plot. That seems to sum up the whole season.

Sorry, but have to disagree, season 3 was easily the best season yet, with very little filler along the way. And things had to come to a head with the "war" between the universes and this episode showed us what would happen if one "won" over the other. If the show had been canceled, this part of the story could have worked as a (pretty bleak) series finale without the part right at the end.

There were plenty of WTF moments and how will everyone forgetting Peter account for some things (e.g why the hell would the Walters even have a dispute without Peter?) but I'm very much looking forward to next season. Given that we got a dedicated "black" intro, I wonder if the future thing will play into next season a lot more, kind of like how things started with the "red" universe? I definitely think so, because older Ella, the young Fringe agent talking to Astrid back at Fringe HQ seem like they would become new characters rather than once off guests... No idea though how the "broken" future would be relevant to things now however.

Also, the universes haven't "merged" right? Only things in that one room on Liberty island. So how will the folks from the "red" universe cross back over?

Brilliant episode again this week but I hope that isn't the conclusion to the First People mystery since that's a self contained paradox without the initial conditions and assumes that the machine existed without ever having to be created (though I suppose it's possible that it could have been created during previous iterations of the loop which we're not privy to which is sort of supported by Peter's conciousness having travelled in time, a solution which we see Walter come up but has already been acted upon).

Ok so many questions after watching it and I can come up with very few answer so I will start the ball rolling.

The line from the Observers after the merge saying Peter never existed ...discuss

Liked the finale, liked it a fair bit. Always good to see Brad Dourif and I thought he would be given more to do, but given the focus of the episode, it's understandable that he wasn't in it much. Not entirely sure of Pacey's acting chops for episodes like this, think he works better as snappy, sharp Peter. Was there a suggestion that 2026 Olivia can't have children? Where can season 4 take us? I felt some of it mirrored the pilot, which I liked. Seemed like the odd nod to characters or fans, e.g., the sweets for Walter and empty lab. Most of the reaction I've read is very positive, a little gushing

yeah that about sums up my report on the day we all died:D,

i was kinda surprised that our peter didnt get to interact in the future and only seemed to be observing,

its good to see what could have happened if peter did destroy one universe, these kinda things are probably very finely balanced and even to upset one thing would have dire consequences for everything else,

the thing now is how the two universes plan on working togerther, the problems facing them are affecting both side more overthere than here, seeing as they've had about 30 years of it and were only at the beginning,

i wonder though if peter never existed how did the events come to pass in the first place, did the observers create peter in an attempt to break some continuus loop that the first people (oliva, walter, astrid ETC) are stuck in, constantly repeating some mistake over and over, with peter hopefully being the thing that breaks the cycle,

i am wondring if joshua jackson is gonna be coming back next season (maybe the renewal was given if they dropped a lead)
