what if the van had blood on the seats and air speed holes in the windscreen??

You didn't say anything about those earler when you still implied that the white van would be a put-off. Now you're moving the goalposts.

    a handyman or nicker??

Again - whatever a "nicker" is - deciding based on those 2 options has no bearing on what they are driving, which is what you originally asked.

besides i'd tell her that i needed to spray my van, and next time i'd stop at the yield sign rather than run it coz i'm in a white van :pac: (van drivers eh)

If she was a shallow snob who followed what you said in the original post, then she wouldn't even give you a chance to explain.

Cars are dullsville at the moment a 02 323F 2.0 Sport is my main motor and the other is my 'spare' car- a '95 316i with 210000 on the clock. I bought it cheap and then it crapped out. It was such a nice little old car, I didn't have the heart to kill it so I put it aside and fixed it up over the winter. I wouldn't fancy the birds you'd pull with either of these cars tbh :P I've never owned a car suitable for pulling.

All my fun is coming from the bikes at the moment; a GSX1400 and a Hayabusa. Apparently, I like Suzukis.

I've owned 19 vehicles in total and "pulling power" isn't a consideration at all.

    "dude" :rolleyes:

    I'm just stating the facts.

Anyway, what is the thread meant to be about ? It says "what car" and then every other post by you is on about the condition of the car or the impression of the driver - nothing to do with the car itself.

And thanks for the question re the white van, but I'm definitely not into blokes....sorry!

no you are bring back story into why a guy would have a white van ... there could be good reasons he has a van or bad ones ...

nah - i'm only about the car - condition of the car is implied.
the driver is irrelevant to be honest - people brought that up.
i'm not being shallow (hell i drive a shed) .. but some people are .. and i was asking a question for fun.

I have to admit, a girl in a nice classic (e.g. bug eye sprite, alfa spider etc.) would get bonus points!

Exactly my point......so you can't judge based on "the van".

But you're the one who added "blood on the seats", etc ? I'm confused!

    Because that's what's important.

And - thankfully - most people replied saying that the car itself is irrelevant.

As you said - pros and cons.......wouldn't be my chosen mode of transport but add in a mattress at weekends and you're sorted for "park 'n' ride" :D

If a girl drives an automatic or a post-'03 nissan micra that would definitely put me off though

One with an attractive person in it. I'd be horribly shallow if I was attracted to someone because of their car. No, looks are far more important.

    Wait, isn't that an oxymoron?

    This one.

And having a flash car doesn't matter a damn in this country, none on the nightclub/bar doors are wide enough to drive through.

You missed the rest of the thread...
Anyone else find this post ironic?
I certainly did when I wrote it.

But don't let that get in the way of your intellectual and moral superiority, I know I wouldn't!

:pac: (Now it's obviously a joke - I think we've all learned something here.)
