Ladies what car would you either seal the deal or break it if you saw your potential man pull up in?

    Similarly for the lads?

Or even motorbikes (if that floats your boat!!) :D

One with an attractive person in it. I'd be horribly shallow if I was attracted to someone because of their car. No, looks are far more important.

Do people really still think like this in this day and age? How very, very sad.

I saw a car the other day in a middle class, nice, quiet estate. Black tinted windows, gold trim, stickers - one said 'Ghetto Child' I think, one of a grenade, that sort of thing. Looking at that car I could see into the troubled soul of it's owner. Living a tough life with their parents in the south Dublin suburbs, unable to be where they belong - in the harsh ghettos of urban America. I could tell we were meant to be together.

+1 in terms of the thread title, although I think an old Rover Maestro used to talk a little too, although I don't think it said "yes please".

Don't think I could go near anyone who scores with someone based on their car or their wallet, tbh.......there'd be no point because we wouldn't be compatible on values or what's important in life.

nobody is relying on it .. but i mean in a plus or minus points sense of things ... like if a guy pulled up in a white van with a different coloured front wing, i can't say that would be many plus points ...

for me if a gal pulled in with a punto/micra with any dents/scraps on a bumper ... i'd seriously considering walking :) (unless she had a hot identical twin sister in the back :pac:)

Unless their car is their personality, then it being a turn off is as shallow as you can be. I'm really not concerned if they drive a Jaguar or a Fiat, but if they drove up in a custom pink with playboy stickers style monstrosity, yeah... no chance. A car can never be a turn-on (except in those occasional 'I married my Seat Ibiza' cases) but it could, in a small number of cases, be a turn-off.

I'd be seriously turned off if it was a flashy car, or a feckaneurm car (the typical young lad vroom vroom).

Body kits, spoilers, they're horrible and they say a lot about the person who owns it. I couldn't stand being with someone who was precious about their car, and I'd be offended if someone expected me to be impressed by it.

their choice in car reflects something about a person right? and the condition says a bit too.

i'm not saying anyone would pick anyone else just for that car (though she ain't with no broke ....)
i'm just saying cars like clothes (which do not make a person) are often important in relationships .....

but this is for a bit of fun ....

would any guys jump on the back of their partner's motorbike??

Not really, their choice of car in relation to other aspects of their life says something about a person.

I think people would have more respect for a lad of 25 who bought a Punto, had his own place and a decent job than for a lad of 25 who drove a BMW and lived at home with his parents with a part time job in the local chipper, spending all his cash on the car and living off his folks.

Why would a girl write off someone because they'd lost their job in the recession and had showed initiative as a handyman - selling their car to buy a white van - only for some idiot to crash into the wing.....

.....but - despite the insurance not paying out yet - they still wanted to keep what little money they had to treat the girl to a decent night out ?

    a handyman or nicker??

besides i'd tell her that i needed to spray my van, and next time i'd stop at the yield sign rather than run it coz i'm in a white van :pac: (van drivers eh)

what cars/bikes? and did you pick em for the "pulling" power or the vehicle itself?

You didn't say anything about those earler when you still implied that the white van would be a put-off. Now you're moving the goalposts.
    davoxx wrote: »

Again - whatever a "nicker" is - deciding based on those 2 options has no bearing on what they are driving, which is what you originally asked.

Cars are dullsville at the moment a 02 323F 2.0 Sport is my main motor and the other is my 'spare' car- a '95 316i with 210000 on the clock. I bought it cheap and then it crapped out. It was such a nice little old car, I didn't have the heart to kill it so I put it aside and fixed it up over the winter. I wouldn't fancy the birds you'd pull with either of these cars tbh :P I've never owned a car suitable for pulling.

All my fun is coming from the bikes at the moment; a GSX1400 and a Hayabusa. Apparently, I like Suzukis.

I've owned 19 vehicles in total and "pulling power" isn't a consideration at all.

    "dude" :rolleyes:

    I'm just stating the facts.

Anyway, what is the thread meant to be about ? It says "what car" and then every other post by you is on about the condition of the car or the impression of the driver - nothing to do with the car itself.

And thanks for the question re the white van, but I'm definitely not into blokes....sorry!

nah - i'm only about the car - condition of the car is implied.
the driver is irrelevant to be honest - people brought that up.
i'm not being shallow (hell i drive a shed) .. but some people are .. and i was asking a question for fun.

Exactly my point......so you can't judge based on "the van".
