    14th is the final. The heats are next tuesday and thursday I think and they are on the second heat

    Absolutely not.

    They might well be nice kids, but that doesn't make up for the fact that they have zero talent and have the most irritating form of the "wanna talk in Americanisms" affliction known to man, despite them not actually making any sense when talking and not having anything worthwhile to say.

    What makes me laugh is that people who swore that they'd never watch the x-factor ****e if they got through to the following week (a) kept watching and (b) are now the biggest offenders of spouting "aww, give 'em a chance / support our own".

    Eurovision might be a guilty pleasure, but I reckon the real reason the EU/IMF are screwing us is because of our two-fingers via Dustin and now these twits.

    Ah go way, you don't really think that? Do ya? Irelands political landscape is a shamble all because we don't take the eurovision seriously? That's even a bit too much for the best conspiracy theorist!

    People are going on as if the eurovision is the mercury music awards or something, more or less every act in it is going to be crap and tacky. I'm fully behind Jedward( ooh er missus). I find the people who get wound up by jedward a little sad, they're an act for kids and kids love them, no harm whatsoever. Anyway I think it more a case of people feigning anger and outrage to make themselves look cool and edgy.

    I wouldn't mind if they won to be honest.This country could do with a boost to its profile and although I'd like someone else to represent us,if we won it then it could go some way to raise it!

    Anyways doing a sweepstakes or similar on Eurovision night is a bit of craic,I reckon everyone will wanna get Jedward!

    It's not a serious singing competition with talent and good songs it's the eurovision, send them, they can't do any worse than what's there already.

    I'd love to see Ireland win it again, would prfer if they won it with a good song though - which Jedward's song ISN'T, although it is catchy, caught myself on more than one occasion singing the song in my head...

    But it's such a zippy little song. The mainland europeans are lapping the two of them up. They have been in tabloids, broadsheets, current affairs programmes. It's mad. Jedward will eventually take over the world, but at least it will be a cute, sickeningly sweet one ;)

    Yeah was reading about their adventures since landing in Germany - they are all over the media, as you say.
    Someone sent me a youtube link of their press conference and an interview with some Russian TV station and they were both ubercringey and hilarious at the same time.
    Mad as a bag of hammers with barely a musical note betwen them...I'd say they'll win.:D

    They are that indeed, couldn't hold a note to save their lives, but dammit, I think they're great! They were in the News here (netherlands), and I've heard teenage girls talking about them. They were asking me if all Irish boys were that good looking (of course I replied they were :D )
