We are changing physically and mentally at an amazing rate. The ones who survive to procreate are a lot different than those from even 50 years ago. Many people would not have survived then for a variety of reasons.

Healthcare is huge.We keep people alive now who would be tayty bread not so long ago.Not only are they alive but we are aiding their "faulty"genes to "infiltrate" the world gene pool. This may sound harsh but Im trying to make a realistic, pragmatic comment on where we are going.

I apologise to those that are offended by this but its just an idea.

Inbreeding used to be an issue until society cut it out(almost)

People with disabilities, special needs, genetic deformaties are allowed to procreate. Now,this wouldnt have happened years ago yet we are expected to support their progeny via the state.

I am not a heartless git but was just wondering what others may think

    *backs away*

You seem to be of the belief that evolution is on some kind of mission to improve people in some way. You are wrong. Evolution stalling is exactly what evolution 'tries to do'. When it has stalled it is working perfectly. That's kind of the whole gig.

good points, i wonder is that why cancer has become so prevalent these days?

have you ever seen film "Idiocracy"... pretty stupid film but the idea was good, basically, hard working professionals are to busy to have kids while white trash (travellers and basically scumbags) have tons of kids and in the future the world becomes really dumb because the gene pool was diluted so much

    First Hawking has kids

    Like what theZohan said:

this is evolution, the more we evolve the more we can deal with human defects -

I dont really buy into the scum are breading at a higher rate so we're evolving into a more scummy stupid human.

How does being disabled automatically mean there's something wrong with your genes? Becoming paralysed or losing a limb doesn't change your genes.

thank you, slightly different to wahat I was saying but basically the same. These people wouldnt have had all their kids live to reproductive stage in the past but now can due to handouts.

If you are born with a disformity your genes are faulty, right?

I was talking about fundimental dna issues which cause these to be passed on to future generations due to the advances we have with medicine.

Your last sentence is lost as Im not talking about peoples dna who have suffered after being born

Some of it is, you only pass on half of it. So there's no guarantee the parent will pass on any dodgy genes.

Do we not let parents with glasses breed?
Do we not let say weaker people breed?
Do we not let ugly people to bredd?

Who gives a ****. We're not going to be here forever and when **** eventually hits the fan I'll be long gone. Eventually there will be no humans.

Essentially the problem is that people in developed countries procreate in order to receive benefits. People who actually have work ethic and will power tend to apply themselves to a career and as a result don't have as many children. Thick ***** sit at home drinking cans and have 40 children. These 40 children are looked after by dopes and thus become dopes and have 1600 children between them. The intelligent people are vastly outnumbered by dopes and this is the world we live in. Unless Hitler v2 comes along it will stay this way for as long as humans survive.

It's a sad outlook to have that the world is essentially ****ed but it is and it's not going to change so just enjoy it. It's just greed and human's nature to look after himself and his own. We have it good in Ireland so don't whinge about it. We're not starving, we have access to health care and we have a good quality of life. If you're living here, believe it or not, you lucked out.

Evolution hasn't stopped. I would agree that the survival of the fittest has stopped because we look after everyone and everything and everything has a right to live and everything is a blessing. Give me a break. All you can do is enjoy yourself because thick people rule the world. They are the majority. They ride like rabbits and produce like rabbits and therefore have a larger say in all democratic countries. Enjoy yourself and don't worry about it cause it ain't changin

    Are kids borne with glasses?

Does physical appearance equate to ....anything....?

What are you talking about. None of that is relevant to whether human beings are now evolving cerebrally, or not. Its cultural, not actual, evolution and is based, mostly, on the intelligence of people who have already existed. Nor am I saying that smart people no longer exist - I know - I am one. ( A scientist).

However, lets be clear about this. If dumb people breed more than smart people we will get stupider. The only counteracting force on this is regression to mean - which means very dumb people marrying very dumb people will have, on average, children smarter than their parents. however that wont make them smart.

Unless people have some kind of mathematical model where this wouldnt happen, they should cede the point.

Now that is a funny spelling mistake given all that surrounds it.
The fat buck talking sh1te in a grave yard last Monday may be a bit fcuked up, but hey he's still a human, at least.
But hey King Kong was a bit of gorilla's guerrilla wasn't he?

And as for the OP's concern about evolution, isn't there a theory somewhere that there are two different types of human evolving. A more cerebral, well looked after type and a more physical, school of hard knocks sort of an affair like?

As for inbreeding being sorted out. I don't know about that. I mean there's a lot more kids knocking around nowadays who may not know who their fathers are, but who live together in a community...

You should read The End of History by Fukuyama. That'll sort you out. And afterwards you'll say 'meh...'

    Or you should...

He's driving at survival of the fittest more so than evolution and he has a point. We are all wrapped in cotton wool and have access to copious amounts of medication in the developed world. I'm not saying he's right or wrong I'm just saying he has a point. You could argue that we evolved to know all this **** or that we evolved too well and as a result we have overpopulation and the likes. I like to argue that there are too many dopes and that I will just do my best to live in ignorance as that is the key to happiness when you have a brain because you are able to see how bollocksed everything is.

This helps in your quest to find the taty bread.

Development within a perceived "safe" environment is a markedly different conversation to the one the OP rather ham-fistedly attempted to start though.
