Actually in this case I think there is a need to be insulting. What an utterly stupid thing to do. Is it any wonder people are getting killed on our roads with drivers like you out there. As you said "he was never near enough to hit me". Once your OK thats all that matters I suppose. Never mind the other motorists. Braking testing a man which had him "slammed the brakes when he saw my lights..he stuck to the road, lovely sound of screetching" is one of the worst things you could possibly do to another driver. Something like that could have caused a tyre blow-out. Also you seem to have forgotten about the other innocent motorist you told us about who "had to dart to the hard shoulder to avoid him". Jesus Christ someone like you should never be let behind the wheel of a car if you think what you did wasn't dangerous and idiotic.

Gonna jump in here.....Zippy i would have done the same thing....seen this alot on the roads and pisses me off big time.
Rules of the roads state that you must be able to see the back wheels of the car infront of you on the road.....if your tailgating you cant see this and therefore your to close..back the f**k up.

You know in a lorry you sit at the very front...so if you look down you can see the back wheels of a car...

    Just sayin'

I drive the N4 a lot, and there's nearly always one eejit who likes to try and undertake at the roundabouts near Longford.

I'm quite happy to let them do so, and so slow down a little....as they glance in to see am I aware they're trying to get by, I either wave or just pull a funny face.

    They don't expect it, and I'm entertained...simples.

    @van der vart.....kudos!!

(yes, I am that easily amused when driving.....)

What is it with people like that? Everyone has at least one story about something similar so this type of behaviour is a common occurrance. How does someone end up so ignorant and with such a sense of entitlement that they act this way? It truly is disgusting.

anyone who had a normal childhood knows what kerbs is. it doesnt need explaining

I saw kids playing it the other day, so its still alive.

It was the past time for kids in pre-Celtic Tiger Ireland (also Squares aka football tennis, heads & volleys and world cup.)

It involves 2 players a ball and kerbs either side of the road. Some games were standard over the head throws, other versions of the games had an elaborate scoring system based on the difficulty of the throw.

You also got double points for throwing over passing cars.

About two/three years ago I was coming out of Dicey's on Harcourt Street when this car of skangers drove past slowly and proceeded to spray water from one of those sports bottles at myself and a few others standing around. The guy in passanger side was breaking himself laughing and shouting abuse out the window as they drove slowly past..

At that stage, I had already flagged down, and was getting into, one of those 7UP peddle buggies, as there were no taxis to be seen. A few minutes later we approched traffic lights and I spotted the gob****es in the car waiting to turn right. The passanger window of the car was still open. The girl I was with had a lollypop and as we drove past, I pegged said lollypop full-force at the car. Amazingly, in my drunken state, I managed to crack yer man smack in the head with it. He sh!t himself, as did the other dopes in the car. We sped on ahead in the peddle-buggy laughing and I gave the lads the most satisfiying two-finger salute ever, as they roared and shouted out the car window.

    Hehe love this thread!

Just one off the top of my head:
Was my first night working in a bar, and to top it all off was a big motorbike festival going on at the time. This couple were at the bar during the quiet time of the early afternoon and obviously saw me being trained in/knew that i was new.

When it got hectic, and i mean 5 or 6 people deep all along the bar shouting for drinks/hot august weather/running out of everything in the fridge, the woman who was a bit rough, asked me for a drink and i served her and stood there like a fool waiting for her to give me the money, she was turned talking to someone behind her and i was there trying to get the tenner out of her hand. Eventually she paid me and I gave her her change back (coins). Well next thing she caused uproar shouting abuse at me that she had given me a fifty and I was short changing her, and she was going nowhere until i gave her her correct change. She was threatening me etc when I told her she had given me a tenner, calling me stupid etc saying she only had a fifty in her purse. Big crowd around, got very red faced but knew i hadn't as i had stood looking at the tenner for so long trying to prise it out of her hand.

Owner walked up and asked what the problem was - the woman went on to repeat her story, lots of abuse. Manager went over and opened the till. She asked me had I served anyone else in the meantime, I said no.........
Not one 50 in the till! The manager had taken them to get change about 20 mins earlier and nobody had handed me one since.

She slammed down her drink and left the bar and everyone else cheered.
Obviously trying to full a past one on me and try to embarrass me into handing her out 40 euro.
So glad I stuck to my guns. Needless to say, she wasn't the first to try it in my years working in bars and clubs!

Second story, my J1 summer working in a beach town on the Jersey shore, I was working on a bank holiday weekend in a huge seafood restaurant (capacity about 800) This huge table of 12 19/20 yr old girls got seated at my table. Were obnoxious from the start, making me run around getting them stupid things, asking me repeat myself about 10 times pretending they couldnt understand my accent etc. Ran up a huge bill - about 600 dollars between them and then one of them asked me to get her a doggy bag. When I came back with it, the table was empty. Checked the bill folder, no money in it. Que panic.
It was the restaurant's policy that if we had a table walk out on us (common occurance as it was such a big place) the waiter/ess had to cover the cost of the bill. I ran like i never had before down 3 flights of stairs to the host, asked them if he had seen a big group of girls walk out. They had just gone into the car park so he radioed the car park attendant to not open the gates until the police got there.I had to stand there on the street and identify them when the police came and they were shouting abuse at me. Really intimidating and embarrassing!

Was so glad they got caught, arrested etc. Only for I was flying home 2 weeks later I'd have had to give evidence against them. Just glad those B***ches didn't have dinner on me, costing me like 3 or 4 days wages+tips. Needless to say i didnt get a tip that time, averaging 10% they still cost me $60!
