The tale I heard was that some students had removed limbs from a cadaver and were ambulating rapidly around the lab in a competitive manner with the aforementioned limbs asking "what's this ?"

The answer of course was the arms race

I can't speak for other medical schools, but in UCD, no way would that be allowed. We're not allowed remove anything from the cadavers, everything that you cut in dissection, aside from a little bit of fat, has to be placed back in afterward.

As for the licking ears, etc that someone else mentioned, I don't doubt that it happens, but I've never seen anything of the sort in my experience, all students I've encountered have been much more respectful than that.

As for the OP, good on you, cadavers are absolutely invaluable to medical students and it's much appreciated. As far as I know in UCD, the remains are cremated within 2 years and the ashes returned to the family.

Can you sell your body to science? And get the cheque while you're still alive obviously.

After playing Portal I've thoroughly decided not to donate my body to science on the off chance that I wake up someday in an enrichment center.

What a dignified post. Read it, then glanced at the posters name. Thundercunt. Nice. :D
