I take my time so slowly that the food on my plate goes off quicker than I can eat it.

Not too fast, yet not too slow. I am pretty certain it takes around 20 mins to register the fact that you are full.

Yes, I am a sufferer of premature mastication...

I myself would have my dinner polished off and normally people would only be half way through their dinners savoring every mouthful -maybe its because growing up it was fight for survival having hunga siblings -

So just wondering how fast do you eat food?

I am a terribly fast eater, and the tastier the dish, the faster I will eat it.
I guess it's down to the taste being so good that you just want it again and again.
I am aware of my "flaw" and do try my best to eat slower when in company, but, alone,
    the wolf comes out.

Don't get how someone could spend 20 mins or so eating a fries from mackers, or a big mac.
Me, if in the mood, it's gone in 7-8 mins, 10 mins tops.
Oh, and when I have to eat slow, or slower, I never enjoy the meal near as much.

I find that the classier the meal the slower I eat. I usually scoff down fast food.

Likewise, I'll be last to finish a nice meal or a decent dish. But if have to buy some fast food or deli crap when I'm on the move. Then I'll wolf it down pronto.

I eat incredibly slowly, I'm always left at the table after everyone else has buggered off. Probably because I spent more time talking than eating.

    I wish I could eat quickly :(
eating fast gives you ulcers:eek: i eat really slowly i like to take my time whats the hurry people these days are allways in a rush:eek::P

Yes, but only in moderation. Probably twice a month I might get a pizza or Indian. Never eat McDonnells or Burger King, its not food, it’s a chemical reaction.

* just realised I didnt read the title, ha ha, I blame it on the heat :o

And what's wrong with chemical reactions? that statement makes no sense.

i eat at an unparalled olympic speed.

It comes from growing up with my family.

If you didnt eat fast you didnt eat.

I would eat a double quarter pounder and large curry chips faster than my fiance can eat half a regular burger.

Its not a good habit, but just the way i am

Am exactly the same! Can hound through food in no time at all - the more i like it - the quicker it disappears - big mac meal.... would never top 10 minutes and probably closer to 5 - only ever get them in a drive through probably because of this! Other main weakness are the big bags of crisps - any kind - can have them emptied in the time it takes the oh to munch through a tiny multipack bag!

since having kids I eat very quickly as I have to attend to the boys all the time...

It's gross, and bad and it's on the list of things I need to address..

I eat really really fast, i think it came from when i worked in a restaurant, we didn't get proper lunch breaks so i had to shove the food down before i had to serve some customers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 519 ✭✭✭harry21

I eat like a conveyor belt. Just keep shovelling it in!!!

Was always told at home 'slow down, nobody is going to take it away from you'. Nobody ever did - but I still don't take any chances :D.

I eat like I was raised on a farm with pigs. Breakfast is always rushed - shovel it down with one foot out the door. Lunch is also rushed. Dinner at home in the evening is the only meal that i sit down and take it easy and enjoy it. I cook all my weekly dinners on the sunday before the working week otherwise I'd be eating readymade crap meals which aren't all that filling and are expensive also.
