I was contacted once, but didn't respond as I thought it was either

    a) some weirdo, or

    b) a lazy journalist.

Can't remember exactly which one of you were quoted for what but it was something about it being for pervs and when you went on you say "X amount of d!cks, X amount of men masturbating" etc. I found it amusing! It did prompt me to go on it, but for about 5 seconds and all I saw was willies and ****!!!

Uglbolloxface, ask the reporter how much he/she is offering... then ask the bank how much they will pay to not have the letter published. Highest bidder FTW ;)

    Interesting...very interesting.
Is that, what's the word, 'legal'? Obviously I wouldn't have the Gards after me for it, but is that not blackmailing the bank? (actually, hold on, for blackmail I probably would have the cops after me??).

Oh ever clever AH, answer the above for me - is it advisable to do the above, or is it blatant blackmail, and thus could I get done for it?

    Danke.

Once, regarding Airsoft just after it became legal and the 'think of the children' talk show discussions about it started. I didn't reply as I knew whatever I said would be twisted and used against the sport.

Had a journo PM to see if I wanted to comment on Jacksons death... (I wasn't there.... honest!!) I had posted in some thread about nabbing tickets for the O2 (for the wife and sister in law)... didn't bother replying

I've been quoted in some Sunday tabloid apparently. Didn't see it myself but another user told me.

    Something about Chatroulette I think.

    But nobody contacted me beforehand.

    The b*stards.

We were quoted in The Star on the 21/2/2010. I haven't seen it, I wonder if they have an archive?

How much do they pay UglyBolloxFace?

If it's above a couple of hundred, I've slept with Marilyn Monroe. If not, then Twink.

    slightly off topic

when i was about ten i was fishing off the pier in Dun Laoghaire , finished and was leaving when i got stopped by a film crew , instantly star struck
they were from rte's today tonight program

so they asked me and my buddy if they could film us eating ice cream in front of a ice cream van , feckin happy days , loads of ice cream and a cam crew making us the center of attention

told us it would be on in 2 weeks , so excited waiting

night of the show , turned on the show

it was about bacteria in ice cream vans making people really sick
the feckin bastards - and 2 make it worse the back drop of the studio
was a close up of me eating a bacteria laced death cream

such a fecking slagging i got for yonks

    beware of the media :D

A few years back, there was talk of bringing back the terraces into football stadiums in the UK. A football fan website got in on the debate & sent around an e-mail questionnaire to see what people thought of this idea.

I thought it was a good idea, but I thought it was a bad idea to send the e-mail around on the anniversary of the Hillsborough Disaster. For those who don't remember it, the Hillsborough Disaster was a human crush at Sheffield Wednesday's football stadium that resulted in 800 injured Liverpool fans & 96 deaths.

It effectively lead to almost all stadiums becoming all seaters in an attempt to make stadiums safer.

So it was really bad form of them to send around a questionnaire on that day. I posted in the soccer forum about it & was contacted by The Sun. The journalist wanted to know if he could quote me on the story.

I said "no" & the next day, the ran a story about an Irish based Man United fan who was "outraged" by the "disgusting & insensitive" behaviour of a certain footballing fans website.

    Shower of cunts.

Surely they're the last people in a position to say that? Their reporting of the disaster was nothing if not "disgusting and insensitive"

Nope, but I've found quotes from some of my posts in the Indo and the Sun... I was called a "source" even though the posts were complete bollocks, which they would have known if they'd asked my permission to use them.

Don't do it or else prepare to gain nothing but trouble and regret. Too many snakes in the media.

    UBF,

    Don't answer the journalist's email.
She's just trying to get you to buy her grotesquely overpriced flat in the docks.
