maybe its my lack of VAG knowledge, but can someone please tell me what is GTi replica about this?

In fairness, it's got a lovely blue VW logo mat on the dash there and an equally classy red steering wheel.
And man... that leather that looks like they're just draped over the seats.... pure class.

That alone must be worth something!

"Easy on fuel and cheap on parts" I wonder how many parts have been replaced. It should read selling for parts cause it's in bits :pac:.

    €1200 No offers

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/2076500

98' 1.6 3dr Escort that he reckons it's a GTi, a model that never existed as they were all 1.8

    Full?id=6049829

I always taught the whale tail should be flush with the boot door

I've seen a lot of mk6 Escorts with even the factory fitted spoiler rusting from the inside out
due to water seeping in and lodging inside the boot door due to a loose spoiler with a worn foam gasket

If that was a DIY fitting job it would want to have been done perfect to avoid the same fate

Rear bumper could do with at least a set of spats to get it into proportion with the front

The rear glass would bloody hard to come by too

    I'd a 1.8 3dr, you'd need at least that or a 2ltr from a Mondeo to make it a worthwhile project

that 1.6 was barely 90hp new, IB5 box doesn't feel as solid as the MTX-75 in the 1.8

I actually know the owner of this car. The whole car was painted at some stage and in fairness it would have been looked after. It was a lady that drove it as well. It's overpriced by about €1000 though.

Are you an expert in valuing watches? Need a really expensive watch and have a small NCT'd car out the front that is surplus to requirements? YOUR LUCK IS IN!

Not so much a dreamer, but a bit wacky all the same!

Didn't think it looked that bad at all, quick spray of black on the wheels and it'd be grand. Linked it here coz of the €1800 price tag on a 20 year old Audi 80 :)

Only worn on special occasions, a timeless piece that will increase in value

A timeless watch doesn't sound all that useful really.

If you look at the first pic, the digits are different on the face of the watch to the main pic.

Something doesn't add up with that NCT certificate either. The registration would be about June/July '96 and the NCT is until January rather than the date of first registration.

Imported maybe? Would explain the high reg number, but early NCT date

Registration figures for Dublin didn't finish off at 43000 in 1996. They had reached at least 55k before the year ended.
