    Can you elaborate please?

Yes I would vote for him

 There are many of them who go around wiggling their backsides and "advertising" the fact that they are gay. Some men you only have to look at to tell that they are gay. Others do not flaunt the fact that they are.

    And whats wrong with that?
Are they hurting you? Beating you up? Shouting at you?

I'm gay and I dont 'flaunt it' as you say, I'm pretty 'straight acting', but each to their own I find is the best thing....

When I was working in the Seanad Norris alway met tour groups with a smile and was more than happy to chat to them.

I met him at a function afterwards and I introduced myself saying I had worked in the Seanad and he greeted me like an old friend even though he had no clue who was! Talk abut the Céad Míle Fáilte!

I would love for Ireland to have such a charming and affable man as president, the fact he is gay(which show us to be a progressive state) is just topping on the cake!

Seeing him on the show that Wogan did, I would vote for him.
The presidents job is to represent Ireland to an international audience. He is the best man for the job.

Norris also (in his own words) considers himself anglican, is that who should be leading the republic. especially since 2016 is just around the corner.

Why do you believe an Anglican shouldn't become President?

    Would vote Norris.

But would vote Michael D. 1st in a heart beat. That's just 'cause im in my twenties though. The whole arts, sports, culture malark always get's me. He is what i love about this country.

Some backward auld lad like Healy-Rae would make me immigrate.

Why do you think they behave that way then ?

Seriously???? Do you not see women who are straight doing EXACTLY the same thing. And then practically shagging someone in the corner of a club? How is a gay man (or lesbian) out on the pull any different from someone who is straight?

I don't particularly want to see anyone shaking their arses, but I mean that indiscriminately, I don't care whose arse it is!

No, purely because I think he tries too be a character and he's said some really weird things about older men going out with teenagers. He'd be good in TV, I don't know about president. People shouldn't be voting for him purely because he's gay and they want to look progressive.

    Hands-down he gets my vote!

It's a pointless position and he's a humorous man. What can you lose?

I wont be voting for him but I would vote for Chuck Norris!
    Stop spreading this tabloid nonsense.
He never said this, in fact he successfully had the rag that printed it print a retraction.
    Edukte urslfplz.

I wouldnt vote for him because I dont live in the Republic.

If I did live in the Republic I probably would vote for him unless there were a better candidate on the ballot.

The only reason I'd vote in a presidential election is if somebody I truly despised was running. I don't truly despise Norris so won't be voting against him.

tbh though, I think he's far too outspoken to be president in Ireland, where the position means that you can speak out about hardly anything for fear of threatening the separation of powers. He'd be wasted in the role, imo.

I'll hae to wait to see who else runs but I wouldn't have a problem with voting for him and he seems like a pretty good candidate.

Nope dont like him. Nothing to do with his gayness. Just dont warm to him and as i really have not a notion of what a senator does i cant admire his work either...

Having said that. I only got to like robbo after she left the job so meh...

David Norris overdoes the Gay bit. Some of those people make it sound as if the straight people are out of order. I have nothing against Gays but do many of them have to flaunt it ?
I have a nephew who is gay and you wouldn't know to look at him or speak to him but many of them go about daily on an advertising mission i feel.

Hmmm... join date: April 2011. A few days ago: poster banned for posting the same venomous sh1te as above, and worse.

    Hmmm...

No i don't see that tbh. I obviously don't frequent the same places as you. However if people of the opposite sexes behave this way towards each other i would prefer if they did it in private, just as i would prefer gays to keep it private. The straight person should not be made to feel as if they are the odd one out.

And the truth comes to pass...

Seriously, if you think hetero people are discriminated against, it just means you've a problem with equality.

I'd prefer if you didn't stare at me you little pervert.

Tayto lover, are you mates with any gay men or women? I ask out of genuine curiosity. Have you ever had a face to face conversation with an openly gay person?

As for Norris, I wouldn't vote for him. I don't think he is a good political figure, however much I admire his work in strides for equality

Judging by that miaaaoooowwww comment, you spend your entire life in a church, cos it goes on everywhere.

I agree that I don't want to see couples (whether straight or gay) all over each other
The straight person should not be made to feel as if they are the odd one out.

This is a bit of a ludicrous statement, how do you think for example a Gay man would feel in a bar having a pint and a straight couple are snoggin? Same way, it's not exclusive to you or in the straight world.
